Hi guys

Hopefully this is a super quick question.

The car I just bought for my girlfriend came with remote central locking (which works perfectly) except when it locks/unlocks the doors the indicators don't flash. It's a simple small thing I know, but the misses is on my case because sometimes she doesn't know if it's engaged or not.

I'm told via a receipt which I don't have access to it's a "VISC400R Vision door lock system".

Is it a quick and easy task to add the indicator/hazard flash to the car? (It's a 1998 Lancer).

Thanks!

most remote central locking kits have a wire to hook up to the indicators which whoever installed it obviously didnt do, youll have to find the control module (usually would be under the steering column or in the drivers kick panel) and try to get a wiring diagram or figure out which wire it is to go to the indicators and hook it up, im not familiar with that particular system but the wire is often yellow if that helps...

you might have to put in a couple of diodes too if there is only 1 indicator wire coming out of the control module so that when you hook both indicators up to it they dont backfeed into each other when your trying to indicate

Some of the keyless entry kits do not have the hook up wires for the indicators, some do...

Best thing to do is ring the company on the receipt and as them if it is possible for them to connect up the indicators with that particular keyless system.

Hi,

The Vision keyless entry system doesnt have indicator / flasher outputs for the blinkers. No good mate, it just locks / unlocks the doors listen for the noise. :(

Kind Regards,

It still may be possible in theory as the lock/unlock could be used to trigger a circuit that will then flash the indicators, would be a huge pain though and would just be easier to swap out the module for one that can.

Just wire the unlock trigger via two relays in parallel to ground.
High side of relay one is the original lock/unlock circuit.
High side of relay two can be:
  • a circuit you design to flash the indicators;
  • OR easier, simply a circuit from +12V via a squalker to ground (think reverse sensor "beeper");
  • OR easier still, simply a circuit from +12V via one factory horn to ground (will chirp the vehicle horn).
  • OR more interesting, a circuit to fire streamers from the exhaust of the car or some other wife-obvious way to indicate the car is locked?

Hi. All current vision remote locking controllers have 2 outputs for light flashing , the vae 316 490 has unfused green/blue wires and the vae 318 650 has fused green wires while the TP360r remote locking kit has a single wire to flash park lights, it also has anti hi-jack wiring. Cheers MD
