Hi all.

Ive got a bit of an ongoing drama with noise in my BA. The noise thread can be found here:
http://www.mobileelectronics.com.au/forums/index.php/topic/564364-ba-falcon-noise/

So ive finally found some time, and pulled out the ICC. However, it looks like the line level outputs are in the top plug, which is fixed into the dash.
Whats the best way to tap into the outputs ?

Thanks,

Dan.

Hey mate, what are you trying to achieve?
Line level outputs from the ICC? If that is the case, you need to solder to the ICC amplifier board before the signal gets amplified.

No.
I just need to get access to the speaker outputs as close as i can to the ICC, because thats its definitely getting noise induced from the harness.

At the moment my LOC connects behind the kick panel, as thats the easiest place to get the signal from.

OK, then you are right, you need to get at them from the large plug in the dash.
Have a good look into modifying the ICC to get line level outputs though. Then you can bypass the LOC.

These guys do it for $220, but I remember seeing a post somewhere where someone did the conversion themselves. I have an ICC here that I can pull apart to check it out to try.

Is there any reason you don't want to add an aftermarket deck to the tissue box area? I had the exact same problems as you, and all my problems went away when I put in a new HU. I will never look back either!

If you want to go down the route of an aftermarket headunit, I have a spare fascia here you can have cheap

Unfortunately im using the tissue box holder for something else (UHF CB). It fits in there perfectly and there isnt really anywhere else to put it. Adding low level outputs may be a good option though. Ill look into it.
