Hi guys as per usual advice is always appreciated!

I have recently put in a Pioneer AVH-P4350DVD and have decided not to go the sub/amp route but rather get the best speakers I can buy.

Obviously more bass the better but that's asking a lot with no sub, what speakers will give me full range powered off this headunit?

Any information you need please ask.

Thanks again.

The key here would be to find something with a high sensitivity rating, so that way you benefit from it's efficiency.

BUT!!! Before I go rambling any further... my first question is what car? Next.. do you plan on just running a smallish amp on the speakers only? Where do you plan on having these speakers? front doors? rear shelf?

@jamiebosco 2 speakers in front + 2 in rear doors, dollars isnt really an issue obviously nothing insane

@tiger Car is a 2002 subaru impreza, was planning on running them off the HU, speakers as above, if was going to run an amp might as well do a sub as well, so trying to avoid that

Thanks

Actually... you'd be surprised.

I'm gonna repeat myself here (and alot of the regulars on how can vouch for me), but my mothers car is a SV21 Camry. I'm only running rear fill (no front stage as yet, which I intend on running off the head unit) and just a sigle 2 channel amplifier running 2 pairs of Kenwood 7x10s. I'm telling you now... it does NOT require a sub whatsoever! It's making OVER 130+dB on full range and for daily music... it's plenty. It was designed to not have a sub at all.

I'm not saying to go all out and fill your rear tray with 7x10s or anything.... but a single amp with a small footprint which you can hide under a seat shouldn't be a drama. BUT... I'm thinking you are after something you can plug in and play, no ripping up carpet or anything, hey!

On the budget (if you can find them) go the Jaycar Kevlar series 6.5" splits up front and the 6.5" coaxials (or splits if you can accomodate them; which on those doors, I think you can).

A bit more to spend, go the Morel Maximo splits (I think they retail just above $200 a pair), off a head unit in a pair of VT Commodore doors, they sound crazy!!.

Look mostly at entry level speakers. These tend to be designed to run of a HU fine (ie: go loud enough). I like the suggestion of Morel Maximo, but also the next level Tempo series. Then there's Hertz DSK and ESK, stuff from Polk, Crescendo, etc.

Damon's 'affordable' speaker review can give you a good guide: http://www.mobileele...view_under_300/

Or you can also install the largest speaker you can on the stock location but that would require more installation time and sound deadening the doors also provides a better "punch" from the speakers.

Can i ask why you dont want to install an amplifier? You would only require a small amount of room under one your seats and will increase your front stage 10 fold. You could even just get a 2 channel to run the fronts and run the rear doors off the H/U...

The Focal IS165's will happily run off head unit power, they have a high sensitivity and sound pretty good. They also have a shallower mounting depth which is handy for your Subaru because they have hardly any depth in the doors. I'd also spend a bit on some Dynamat and seal up the holes in the doors sheet metal.
