Recently I had a Premium ICC video-in kit installed by ASL Media so I could use my Galaxy S2 Android phone to send video to the stock screen on my 2010 FG G6E Turbo.
Apart from them taking an hour longer than the 45 mins they told me it was going to take to install and the fact that it only came with RCA's (thought it would be 3.5mm jack) to plug into my phone- I was pretty happy to finally get it done. That was, until I found out that my phone doesn't actually work with it! The video out on the phone is via the Micro USB port, not the 3.5mm jack that I thought/anticipated. ASL said it should work with the S2, but I think they cared more about getting paid.
I was wondering what you guys would recommend me doing to fix this. I have thought up a couple options~>
A) Micro USB >> HDMI Cable >> RCA
B) Micro USB >> 3.5mm in >> 3.5mm out >> RCA
C) Buy another cheap Android phone to run the Torque App full time that uses 3.5mm video out >> RCA
Are the 3.5mm jacks guaranteed to support the video signal?
Anyone else got any better ideas??
