Started out in Sydney, Strathfield Artarmon to be specific. Despite the bad reputation a lot of the Strathfield stores had back then, i was tought the proper ways to do things and we didn't cut corners. I worked there for almost 6 years.
After that i started working for a few smaller companies that had contracts with JB HiFi for a few years.
Then i moved to Victoria where i'm working for another different contracting company for JB HiFi. Been doing that for almost 3 years now.
Due to the introduction of decent camera phones about 6-7 years ago i've not always taken pics of every install i've done. Of course the first camera phone i had was nearly 10 years ago but those pics are hardly of good enough quality to post on the net.
I just enjoy looking at people's skills and handy work, and thats exactly why i joined this forum. I'm not talking about full custom fibre glass work... I dont get given the time or the money to do such jobs, working for a large chain store is not always the best place for an installer to be. Having huge time constraints to do most of the jobs i get sucks too, but i pride myself in knowing that the customer will have no problems with the work i've done. But on the odd occasion someone is willing to spend some money and leave their car with me for a few days i can get creative with the trusty old MDF..
Usually the majority of the work i do is just simple swap outs, like speaker replacement or deck installs.. Amps and such too. In the 11 years i've had very few chances to try doing some custom fitouts. I have an online gallery of some stuff i've done if you care to look.
