Speak to your local body shop supply store and ask for a lightweight filler. Rage GOLD is good but can be tricky and hard to find in Aus. There is several other similar products that can do the job, its down to your technique.

any paint shop worth their salt should stock it but another one to look for is the u-pol flyweight series.

The retail automtive trade paint store "The Body Shop" with outlets everywhere are the no.1 stockist of rage gold. It is truelly the best filler on the market to both use, apply and sand. If the panel is not going to be painted, ie trimmed, the K&H technique is an excellent option to use.

in melbourne you can buy it at "the body shop.. inglewood drive thomastown... so if your local to that area and want it, go see Don, his a top bloke, but interstate guys, i wouldnt bother calling him and asking him to post you one tin, he will literally LOL at you..... but yeah, he is helpful with regards to his knowledge, and always wiling to demo stuff to you etc.. his full of info, a good tradesman and knows his stuff... they also sell fibreglass materials, matting, gloves, brushes, drop sheets, etc etc etc, you name it they have it... full range of "house of collour", and lotsof other custom paints availabe...

on the topic of RAGE... its like 65 bux for 3 litres or what ever the hell it is, cant remember exactly.. and other light wieght fillers like upol, are $50 for 4 litres.. so not only is it more expensive, but you are getting less for you money... unless you are doing a painted peice, or have money to burn i wouldnt go slappin it on everything you do...

upol is also good... we use upol satin black spray cans... just for tidying up the plastics on some older cars before re-assembling.. its a great product, never flakes, gets good coverage, and dried very consistant over the painted peice.. ive used plenty of diffrent bogs, and i guess it comes down to preference

Well so some good news, but firstly thanks for everyones help especially with suggesting U-Pol since that is what I now have. This morning I went down to Lonsdale Paints, its a semi local automotive and household paint shop, its small but good. I orignally went in there because I wanted a Plastic Filler, so was looking for the K&H Plastifill, however when I got in their the guy suggest I use this other product, and comparing $22.20 to $40 for the K&H one I thought id give it ago.

Anyway while I was in their I noticed some U Pol fillers, and looking at what seem to be the standard U Pol filler, I asked the guy how much for the 3L and when he said it was only $27 I almost fell over because for the K&H light weight one I was paying about $50-$60 for 2kg, he said he also stocked rage gold and this is when I knew I was in heaven.

So this is my purchase, they also had a Gold U-Pol filler, thoughts?
