That was a great post - all relavent information and no fluffy BS. That's nice to see, and a quite frankly a rarity from somebody who's representing a brand. :)

Not sure if I'll ever go with an external processor, but if I ever do this definately was (and still is) at the top of the list. Keep up the good work!

Naw, not a legend. Just a person who loves music and car audio like the rest of us and is finally getting to put some focus back on high end products rather than joining the mass majority in the race to zero.

Thank you Muzzy. I know for some its been to long already but all I can promise is we will do everything we can to make sure that peoples first impression of the PS8 is as impressive as the technology itself.

On that note I have another long day of testing to do in preparation for Tuesday. Have a good night all.

Thank you Fred - I know I've been one of those loudly stating "WHEN?" - but it's only as partly, it's my job :), and secondly I am sincerely looking forward to putting a unit through its paces for my own vehicle but also to publish to MEA's readers.

Being the grapevine forum, here's some more info from Facebook last night guys:

Quote

So just an update! Tuesday unit #000001 goes before the chopping block with a third party testing facility on a full feature, software, hardware, user interface and performance specifications test. Time to put the proof of quality on paper, and not by one of our own!

Also this photo represents a nice protection feature we have that prevents any serial number from being removed from any PS8 in the world. Every serial number is electronically embedded into the processor and can be read as soon as ANY computer with the PS8 software installed is connected. So attention authorized dealers and distributors be aware if you transship or sell online or into another territory or country there is no way to hide as every serial number sold is registered to the dealer or distributor it is sent to!

As you know Fred, Arc Audio has many friends and fans in this small country, thank you for taking time to directly respond and get involved with our organisation. Cheers.

Interesting about the serial number. You are aware that under Australian law you cannot prevent or even suggest that an overseas distributor not sell here?

Magnum

You are correct however based on the domestic and international Uni lateral territory transshipment and sales policy program and contract that all of our US dealers and international distributor sign we do reserve the right to terminate them as representatives of our company for violating this agreement.

This agreement was written following the legal constraints and limitations of the Madrid protocol act which as of April 2011 is recognized and forced and upheld by 84 countries worldwide. The Madrid protocol not only protects manufactures for international trademark violations but sub headers of the act also allow trademark owners to terminate representation and trademark logo and product use agreements domestically and internationally based upon a properly written unilateral shipping in sales pricing agreement.

In this case our unilateral agreement prohibits our domestic US dealers from selling outside of their territory or on the Internet or if they sell product or supply products to a company who is not a contracted authorized arc audio dealer we reserve the right based upon the international standards of the Madrid protocol and also US business law to terminate the representation of that company as a authorized arc audio dealer or distributor as it is on violation of the legally binding contract they signed and agreed to all policies within.

I apologize for any typos or miss wording as this reply was done with voice text recognition

Smells like a contractual loophole to me, however I understand that you need to protect your intellectual property and your dealers. I still don't understand how I can buy a Bit Ten on eBay for $280 (plus freight) but it is $495 here.

Thanks for taking the time to post here, love your products by the way!

While we understand your point Magnum, let's not take away from the topic of this thread, and that is the long awaited PS8 processor from Arc Audio, and it's build up to what could be a very successful and sought after device.

Keep the information going Fred, and I believe your independent testing went very well also. We must be edging closer to a public release, very exciting for you, the brand, and the enthusiasts.

Thank you Marc. Possibly as early as this weekend I might be able to post some more tear apart photos of the PS8 and also offer more details but we will see. Would you prefer them posted in here or elsewhere in another topic or in a new topic? Let me know.

Magnum,

No biggie, as I am used to being a punching bag on most forums, hence why I dont typically frequent many of them except that of our own. Like you said our main focus is brand and product protection. Over theyears we have had to many cases where internet sites advertise our products even when they dont have product in stock and then sometimes they have one or two becuase of a dealer going out of business etc and our customers purchase the product becuase these sites most of the time mislead them to believing they are authorized and then after they have the customers money they get pushed into something else or its a fight to get their money back. Even worse we have seen produt that looks like my 6 year old son tried to repair it and sold as "Factory Refurbished" or even a few cases where that product was osld as new. Buy us placing such a presidence on this we can make sure that the product you get is the real thing, not modified or manipulated by some fly by night repair guy and that we can offer the product gurantee and quality that only we can offer. Hence the detail in our warranty policy http://www.arcaudio.com/warranty.html and the warning link on our site as well http://www.arcaudio....zeddealers.html v.

I wont release the detials just yet on the testing and review but I can say that the only two problems he saw were, and Ill quote him, "I dont have one for me to use as a reference component for product testing" and "I can't use the words bad**s in any writeup or review"..... Personally I wish he could... :rocker:

What i find interesting/dissapointing is that they are not useing brickwall crossovers in mobile audio, especially with alot of digital realm processing this shouldnt be too hard to impliment ... pro audio has them,we want ours :good:
