Omg and I'm about to get a BitOne. Maybe I shouldn't and wait for the PS8 instead.

LOL Mathew, I was just thinking exactly the same thing.
Have a chat to Marty, see what he thinks. You could always just do the install and leave out the processor out for a month.
FWIW I'm sticking with the Bit-Ten for the Subie on 30th. Devil you know and all that and I only want it done once. There will always be new gear coming out just after you buy anything. I'll be pissed if it comes out at $500 though.

Features-wise it's a truly remarkable piece of kit. Hard to see it being cheaper than a BitOne, but hell, I'd pay up to $2k for a processor with that feature set.

The only real competition to this seems to be the Helix C-DSP, unfortunately there's been no real buzz about this product, likely due to the lack of distributor presence for Helix in Oz.

Either way, looks like Arc have a great product for the very niche end of the market.

You're right Richard. You can't chase new gear all the time :)

I'll probably go with the BitTen on the 21st and then make the switch later when the product is truly well proven in the market. If this takes off, I'd imagine lots of cheap BitOnes, BitTens and H800s for sale lol which is good for us consumers. I mean those other products still works without a doubt.

And as Spyne says, there is the Helix and BitTune... lots of goodies for 2012 :)

the max 10ms T/A might not cut it. Especially if yuo need 12 or 14 ms to counter group delay.

ARC Audio has commented that they will announce the official expected release date and US MSRP of the PS8 in just a few weeks.

Also look out for full coverage of the PS8 on the new ARC Audio website when it launches next week...

Website has been updated with plenty of PS8 information.
Fred Lynch from ARC Audio was in Australia last week and held training courses with very detailed information on the PS8 processor, he also had a processor on hand at the seminars.
ARC Audio dealers are now up to speed on this great unit.
