Hey All,

Well I have exhausted many avenues here - brief run-down of gear in the GFs TS Astra:

Alpine CDA-117E
Alpine KCE-250BT
PAC SWI-RC

Headunit and BT module no problem (removal of old Blaupunkt 520 = PITA!)

The troubles I am having are with the SWI-RC...

Firstly, page two of the manual :

http://www.pac-audio...ions_012711.pdf

...it steps through the wiring - only three wires need to be used...ground, 12v and signal wire to go to SWC of the vehicle.

First obstacle was to find out which factory wire was for the SWC...a bit of help from opelaus eventually find a description of pinouts (yay!)

Second problem was what wire of the PAC SWI-RC to use for connecting to the existing factory loom. AFAICT, there are four possible wires that could be correct. Have tried green and got volume to increase...well maxed out actually (had to turn off, disconnect 12v to clear batt before trying again!)

So that's where I am at :(

Happy to elaborate on anything if it helps!

Hopefully someone a little more savy with these SWC units can comment :)

Thanks All,
Steve

Instructions on how to locate and determine what type the steering wheel control wire:

http://archive.pac-a...ting%20wire.pdf

Hope that helps a bit........btw most cars use the white wire, which is the negative control method.
