Hey everyone,

Im trying to figure out why my head deck doesnt want to accept usb sticks, ive plugged in a cable from the back of the unit around to the centre console and the 3 usb's ive used wont show up...all the deck tells me is that there is "no usb device", the only thing that happened is that my imation usb (with inbuilt LED) flashed a few times...WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? lol.

Any help would be greatly appriciated!

What partition type are the USB sticks?

Looks like they need to be Fat 32.

From the manual:

Max. Power Consumption 500 mA
USB Class Mass Storage
File System FAT 12/16/32
MP3 Decoding MPEG-1/2 AUDIO Layer-3
WMA Decoding Windows Media™ Audio
AAC Decoding AAC-LC format “.m4a” file
Number of Channels 2-Channel (Stereo)
Frequency Response* 5-20,000 Hz (±1 dB)
Total Harmonic Distortion 0.008% (at 1 kHz)
Dynamic Range 95 dB (at 1 kHz)
Signal-to-Noise Ratio 105 dB
Channel Separation 85 dB (at 1 kHz)
* Frequency response may differ depending on the encoder
software/bit rate.

Never had an issue with partition types, but the extension cable's don't sit firmly in alpine's USB cable. Try another cable.

All of my USB sticks have been FAT32 straight out of the box,it's usually only larger external HDD's (64GB+) that are NTFS
