The standard unit is integrated into the fascia with climate control etc which I am wanting to keep.
I'm thinking about installing another deck but am just wondering how it can be done so that both can be run to its full potential.
Currently:
Stock H/U
Front speakers
Rear speakers
Wanting:
Stock H/U
Aftermarket H/U
both running
Amp powering front speakers & sub
Rear speakers
Would using a LLC/LOC from the stock H/U then piggyback RCAs at the amp work?
like here: http://www.computerc...-CWholesale.jpg
Obviously only one source would be playing audio at any time but I've heard that if a speaker is connected to 2 sources, static and noises can be a common problem.
Just trying to plan at the moment but would love to get some input.
Cheers
Wiring for aftermarket H/U whilst retaining stock H/U

You cannot 'piggy back' the RCAs as this would create a short between the outputs of both source units.
The simple way is to buy an aftermarket source that has an auxiliary input, then use a LOC on the OEM source and feed this into the aux input of the new aftermarket source.
Easy.

Exactly what I was thinking. Just tested the deck, and I can have the DVD visuals with Aux sound so it's perfect!
