JVC AVX2 weird ass problem Static KING

Just fired up my old avx2 today and it was fuggin terrible. i hooked it up to a power supply to test it out with a 4ohm home speaker and absolutely nothing but crap comes out of the headunit amp, Just crap load of static and noise and not much volume and u can just hear what song its playing if you turn it right up.

Dont tell me this is stuffed aswell. Any ideas

maybe its the generic wiring harness i brought for it.. I would have thought a wiring harness is a wiring harness. Is that the possible problem?

Depends how you hooked up all the wires :)
Did you double check they are all correct position despite colours?

as far as i know i wired it up correctly, might have to borrow an original harness from a guy at work and see it that fixes it..
