I'll put up the PDF of what was recommended and one that i found that looks like one that could work the major problem with it is its size.
well theyre both moderate power and seem clean enough but there is also alot of other amps around similar sizing with more power eg..cada12250 ..ud have to look and see what ou really want and if your'e caught up in brands then youre gonna have to test some ...or wait till you can increase your dollars spent

The hertz he-1d was offered to me at 280, The naka pl1300 at 250 and the alpine for 320. I haven't gotten a price on the other hertz amp yet.

Am I right in saying that I would not need a lot of power to archive a better and lower sound if the box is ported?

A mate said I should tune it for 30-35hz. Im not sure how to work out how big it would need to be. Jl have some great designs would love to base it on one of there's.

Looks like my budget will need to increase a little. Looked at the focal solid 1 @ $400 and a naka PAD1000B amp @ $350

Should I just drop my sub into the jl box and get a mono with a subsonic filter and use it to cut below 30hz?

The box does seem to be falling aprt though. That's the only problem I have with.
