Hi all, this is a seperate buil to my other thrads on what to get.

Have just purcahed BMW e90 (sedan) 335i, it has the Hi-Fi system which i beleive consists of 1'' Tweets, 4" mid in each door and 6" sub under each seat, plus rear speakers.

anyone know how i can improve it?

a better amp? upgrade all the speakers in the stock locations? or both. add some sound deadening?

i did hear that the link between the amp and head unit is fibre optic and this has to be maintained.

any help appreciated.

Budget $3K all up or less.

Thanks.

rainbow make some nice drop in speakers for these cars and it will provide a nice improvement over stock without changing amps or headunit etc. www.rainbow-audio.de

I think because it's an uncommon car on the forums, people will not have experience with the setup.

Of course, it's always possible to upgrade any and all of the parts if you wish. As pointed out, Rainbow is a good option if you want a simple drop-in replacement set of speakers. Anything else is likely to be a little more 'involved', but do-able.

In Sydney, I recommend seeing Marty and the crew at Fhrx Studios. They will probably have dealt with the same BMW setup previously, and can recommend various upgrade paths to take. Whether you go with only speakers, or add sound deadener, or also change the amp, or add a digital processor, big sub/amp. I can't see why it couldn't be done; so just depends on your aims and budget.

With a budget of only $3k id look at a basic speaker upgrade. Rainbow, Hybrid Audio & Bavarian Sound works have great speakers that will fit in with little mods or basic mods. Then I would spend the rest on deadning & rattle proofing the car. Modern BMW's arent as rattle free as older thicker steel models, but are quieter. Strong, beefed up mounting baffles for the speakers will yield a substantial sound improvement.
Perhaps a polite email to Tom at http://store.12velectronics.com/ as he's one person I know can advice well on the modern BMW's
or look up some of the modern BMW builds on DIYMA. eg http://www.diymobile...onvertible.html

Check out my E90 install under "show of your ride" section.

http://www.mobileele...nstallpics-inc/

The factory locations are actually pretty good for after market gear and offer decent staging.

You can fit 4" mid in the doors, 1" tweeter in the sail panel and and up to 9" in the underseat locations. I also choose to put a 10" sub in the boot above the battery compartment.

Also have a look at http://www.e90post.com/forums/ plenty of good E90 systems there.
