One thing I have noticed is there seems to be a lack of big builds (extreme style?) going on at the moment.
Is anything happening behind closed garage doors?

Do you think with plenty of events coming that people will start building big things again?

it seems to me, that in the last couple of years we've seen peoples goals shifting, from wanting that 160db, down to wanting a musical 150db in a daily driver...

and as such i've been noticing the change in direction that people are taking with their builds... as far as i'm aware, most people have been learning away from your more "extreme" style builds, in favor of packing as much cheap cone area into the biggest removable box as they can... which makes alot of sense to me, it keeps cars driveable and enjoyable for some weekend cruising...

that being said, i think more people are achieving their goals now more than ever, as the motivation is higher than ever, it's no longer solely based on competition cars, that can only be used at comps, it's more about the enjoyment of being able to go cruising with it cranked, car park demo's and doing hairtricks at the traffic lights... lol and with that motivation we're seeing more and more cars doing great things... 1-2 years ago in vic, there was only 1 car doing well over 150 on a regular basis, now, at any event we have at least 2 cars hitting 150, with quite a few more out there....

i'd like to see a couple of big extreme builds come out of the woodwork, as i've always found them super interesting... so hopefully with more comps, it gives people more of as reason to start building them...?

i think it depends on how you use the word "extreme".

are you use it in "dbdrag" form or just a general "that build is extreme" form?

i was using the latter

Yeh most my updates are just uploaded pics to FB atm but yes i have noticed people moving to more a 150db enjoyable music system as a daily than 160db extreme non driveable car.

I would not call mine a big build, it just a few things going in, 4 x 15" subs on 30k of power, 5 x 4ch amps, 10 x 18volt batterys, 3 x 12volt batterys and about 14 PA spks,
plus new wheels, paint and inside trim maybe a new motor aswell as well as some other stuff, so not to bad for my daily drive car,

I've "downsized" my SQ install now on the Proton to now work on my new canvas. (the Jackaroo)

I'd like to think I've got a big install in the work. EST. time of debut is anywhere between 6 -12 months.
1990 Toyota Camry SV21/2002 Proton Satria GTi/1982 Holden Jackaroo

No licence.... no fun... :( Back in action Novemeber 2012
