When it comes to double DIN navigation source units we receive model after model across our desks here, not only for installation because we're an audio store but also for auditioning and ultimately reviewing for various media publications. This practice tends to lend itself to a certain degree of apathy; where one begins to grow somewhat used to them possessing very similar features and abilities. So when the Mongoose Q222 landed here yesterweek we quickly scanned through the specification list and it too does pretty much the same as all the rest. However then we stumbled its ridiculous price tag - fair dinkum it's about a thousand dollars cheaper than about ninety percent of the competition!

Yes you did read that right; the retail of this deck is $1099 and it easily performs on par with most other double DIN navigators on the market! However rather than us bore you to death whilst we list what it'll do, perhaps you should instead head over to the Mongoose website for a full rundown of the Q222's abilities:

Looks good Marty - any info on if the reverse camera input is PAL or NTSC
Bluetooth hands free does it have internal or external mic?
Any xovers? EQs?
how many RCA outputs?
Can other mapping be installed (ie Oziexporer)? External GPS antenna compatable?

I'd be very interested in your actual review Marty. Mongoose aren't known for head unit design and development and there are plenty on the market that are clunky (not suggesting this is mate!), but would certainly be interested in your thoughts from actually using one.
