Was good to meet everyone today. Seems I certainly have a lot of catch up to do. See how I can go for the next event!

Nice turnout today, and it was great to see all the blue sky's and sunshine after the last few days of ugly weather (though my lobster-red skin would disagree with me!).

Seems there are plenty of cars out there that have a lot of potential, which is great to see! Big thanks to the organisers, judges and the hosts for making the event possible - as always it was great to see some old faces again!

yeah Adam, datamine will have them up in the next day or so

was a fantastic day, some great sounding cars and seeing as I judged novice with only one competitor I finally had a chance to listen to a buch more cars.
couldn't of asked for any better weather. Was great to see a good showing from the NSW boys.
Absolutely rapt with a win in my first run in expert class. major congrats to Waz for a win on his car's first event, even if it did take 2.5 years to get there.

Thanks must of course go to Focal for sponsoring the event. Focal have been amazing with their ongoing support of MEA ACT
Thanks to Autotech Services for again hosting a great event, they certainly provide an ideal venue for our events and have also supported us for many years.

Thank's for coming Matt, especially considering it was so soon after you car being finished! It was good to finally meet you and also good to see you got some good results. I know you were really unsure for a while of what gear to use, so I'm glad you are happy with what you decided on!

Also I'd like to give a quick heads up to Anthony (Spink!) for the install in his Commodore. The second I jumped into this car the first thing I noticed is how clean those speakers sound, but the tuning was holding them back a little from achieving their potential. After two quick experimental changes it already improved quite dramatically. It's a nice install layout with some great gear, and with the new amp and a little tuning time I think this system has the potential for some really great results. Keep it up! :)

All this listening to (and talking about) car audio has made me even more impatient to get the gear in my car and get this install done! If all goes to plan hopefully it that won't be to far away.

Bit hot for the comp, dang weather report is lies, all lies.
A couple of new faces, but the numbers were down a bit from last years round at Autotech. Great location for comps, always good photos to be had here.

Had a listen to a few cars, Mini in size not in sound, and the Spink mobile might have us tweaking our 'family' car for upcoming events, if time permits. Also cheers to scraverX for playing some floyd through his noice system.

As always Jess is the woman to beat, setting the standard in Show class, and doing damn well in SQ too.
I entered my new daily driver, with bog stock 15 year old factory stereo - damn it was hard to get the judging material on cassette.
We had some new faces, all the regulars, and some old friends from Sydney coming down, and getting shown that you can't rock up to Canberra with an unfinished system, you'll get owned.

Thanks to the judges; Pat, James, Chris, myself, and now Warren (while he's always worked second show judge, he's now in the - literally - hot seat) for working in what was a surprisingly hot day - despite what the mercury said.

The surprise of the day for me (judging Expert) was BDL's Peugot, filled good gear and potential, and was always good, but not great. Today it stepped up to great. Watch out James. Also Jess and Richard, stepping up into Advanced from Intermediate last year, and holding their own.

Well done and thanks to all our competitors, as you can see from the points line up, any point you can get is valuable, it's tight up the top, and there's no breathing space anywhere in the classes.

Thanks to Ed (Autotech) for opening up for us, providing some shade, and running some cars up on the dyno, the winner there a green VL Turbo doing ~360rwkw.

Wow, considering the judging is more critical in Advanced... I did a lot better then I expected. Especially with only a 2 point gap to Jess.

^ I love your car Richard. It's quite a complete package. Good looks, good sound :) Thanks for the listen. I enjoyed it.

The other car that impressed me sound wise is James (2LOUD2OLD). It is very nice :) Well it has to be if it keeps coming 1st.

Well done Spink! Freshly minted a-pillars and I actually thought it sounded good.

Ant's car...omg his 8 channels amp took up the whole back seat and horns !!! There should be an award for thinking outside the square :)

Warren's car..unfortunately didn't listen to it. I thought I love my Ultimo but he has 2 !!!! and the Utopias Be kit 7 - killer

Lastly as we were about to leave, 4 people crammed into Syd-monster's Honda and it was sounding quite loud even from where I was standing outside. Then he promptly came out, open the boot and reveal the remnants of a Christmas tree and underneath a sub that is not connected and the car is sounding loud !

Peter Harlovic (Alfa) 88points

Wow, I was expecting a 50 at best. All things considered that's a surprisingly decent score! At least now once the install is done I'll have a chance at catching up if I put some effort into it :)

As always Jess is the woman to beat, setting the standard in Show class, and doing damn well in SQ too.

I had the pleasure of judging this car once before and it's just a really nice sounding system. Kind of reminds lot of Alan's XR6 in that it's a simple layout, yet just works really well. Well deserved results! :)

Waz or Chris, is it possible to include the MEA usernames against the competitor/car names?

For those interstate, it will help put a car/person to their MEA persona..

Thanks, Mark :)

Thanks, you aren't the first person to say they like the sound of my car. Overall Linearity has always scored quite well and at least two judges have said it's very easy to listen to. Looking back over my score data (All the way to my very first round, 06/06/2010) Linearity has been scored at 8 or 9 six out of eight times including this round.

Nine, with 2-way split and sub in advanced!!!
