I'm a newbie here and hoping an alarm installer can help me sort out this problem.
I just fitted a M60S alarm to my 1979 P6 LTD (the old Rolls Royce type front end that came out in 1976 to 79) but can't work out how to connect the (-) door trigger wire from the alarm to the door switch. The door switches have two wires (one green, one black with blue stripe). I believe the green is constant power and the black/blue is the earthing side. If I connect the trigger wire to the door switch, it will only activate the alarm after you close the door if you arm it with the door open (tried it by pressing the switch in, then arming, then releasing switch to make sure it wasn't the shock sensor).
I've tried using a relay but no success - (Do I have to put a relay one every switch - including the boot?)

Can anyone shed any light on this? Have tried the two methods above but no change (even tried swapping the trigger and output sides)..
I really don't want to have to run wires and install a single earth type switch (like the bonnet switch) to all four doors and the boot as well.
I managed to get everything else working fine, central locking (courtesy of rhino kit), auto windows up, immobilisers, bonnet - everything but the bloody doors and boot!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
