Ok, we live in WA and we own a car and we are on this site because we like either good doof or the finer sounds in life!

I like listening to the 'S' and the 'Q' and i'd like to see if we can get enough interest for putting together a SQ and or SPL comp... and regularly!
I would be safe to say that we would have a few store out there who would help out if there was enough interest.

So who is keen, and what is your choice of poison?

I'd put both my hands and feet up! Probably SQ, but I'd like to dabble in anything to get started.

I am very interested in SPL, I'm NOR with 145.1 db I'm trying to get more people motivated to "re-build" the scene in Perth. I currently have a facebook page to connect people in perth a bit more specifically www.facebook.com/splperth. Albert appear to be keen on doing comps again and with a few of the right people it shouldn't be difficult

Great to see this interest. We have MEASQ and BASS Battle formats and a platform (MEA) in which to promote and co-ordinate it all. I would personally love to see WA flying the flag once more for what was once possibly the most active sound off state.
All it needs is one individual with the drive, or even easier a retailer to get behind it and start organising events.
For those of you on Facebook, there is a great discussion on the Alberts Cannington page right now about this, and I encourage you to express your interest: http://www.facebook....bertscannington

I'm currently working full time, but to help the cause I'd take it on provided it wasn't a full time job. *looks over to Alberts Cannington*

Doing the social side and keeping in touch with the retailer (if they run sq and battle) isnt a full time job. Its just the odd phone call, drop into the store/s once a while and abit of time posting on here. Trust me i know what it takes to run this section ( 5+years) and comps (3 years) as i use to do it, im just not interested in that side any more.

Probaly the main thing that should happen before worrying about comps is, Have a couple socail meets/ listen sesions first to see what people want etc. No point trying to run comps if you dont have forum members showing up.

Hopefully WA can get back to where it once was and do better.

Actually, while I don't want to disagree with you Jnr, I think a different approach is in order. If you try and drum up interest, try and please everyone etc you go around in circles. I've always adopted the "if you build it they will come" approach and encouraged our reps in each state to do the same. Seems to be working so far with a bit of effort. :) Regular, well organised and promoted events and they will start coming out of the woodwork I believe.

Maybe what we should do is meet up and see if anyone is keen on helping run things. i can help out where possible just dont know where to start. like marc said just get it started and word will spread. the thing is we need someone (or more than one) to start it.
i was speaking to JNR ealyer in the year i think it was and correct me if your wrong but you have the tents and flags and whatnot and also the formats and things do you? might help. lets try get a few people interested in running/helping and see if we can get something running.
anyone keen on a meet up and find if anyone is interested in actualy running something. or set a few people to confront stores about running something.

meaw owns a cpl tables, bench, portable single carport and a cpl of banners, which are currently at Wheelz place. Format wise, better off sticking to Mea's current formats.

It appears there are few people keen on bringing MEA formats to Perth. I think a barbecue or meet is a great idea, it would be great to see what systems people have, how many people we get and what everyone's into. All that is needed for that is a venue, some food and obviously people.

I dont have any friends with SQ gear in their car, so would be nice to compare with other like minded people.

This all sounds realy good. Let's try find a place to all meet up on a Sunday sometime. What sorta location is everyone. I'm east in the hills but dont mind driving. So hands up who lives north or south then work it out from there. Also shout out if anyone has an idea of place or preferred dates.

I'm NOR but don't mind driving either, Sunday sounds like a great day and maybe make it 3-4 weeks away to allow word to get out. Thinking around the city would be a great central area, tho may have to pay for a venue..

central somewhere would be nice. Although probably hard to find a venue were noise won't be to much of an issue if people want to show off a little. Maybe a carpark for a closed shop with not much around. And yes give it a few weeks for word to spread.
we can also see if anyone would be happy keeping the carport, banners and tables and that sort of gear at there house.
any other ideas for things we might need please shout out and we can get this all underway.

There is a group of us that is very keen on seeing this happen. the main thing we need too know is what too do, Give us some direction if alberts isn't keen on backing comps than we'll have too do it ourselves. We need an outline of the logistics that have too be put in place too make this work, can bass battle provide us with some of these logistics? ie tables marquees and termlab if they can't than we have too get the stuff together also how do we make the results official do we need a representative from bass battle there on the day? in regards too venues can we just use an isolated car park or do we need permits/private land too do it on also is there a set calendar or can we format our own? once these immediate questions are answered we can start organizing what we don't have. we are all very resourceful and ready for a challenge. While it would be good too see a car audio store backing this we are ready too do what it takes too see bass battle in Perth.

I still have my Termlab, it's only a single sensor system but is still plenty to make do with.
