hello all
my friend is building a new system for his wagon and he needs some advice on where to buy his 0awg cables n how many runs he will need and also how many batteries he might need
call him crazy or f***en silly but he really wants to put 4 12inch t2 rockford fosgate subs powered by 2 2500t amps

its a standed 120amp alternator
his thinking of 2 runs of 0awg for each + and - and 1 extra battery

what 0awg cables and batteys are best to buy for bang for buck

2 batteries in the back would be better then 1. Then you can have 1 batt per amp. Also 1 run per battery would be enough. Just make you do the BIG 3 lol..

You can get any cable or batteries. Just depends on your budget lol. But jaycar for 0 gauge maybe or even some welders cable.. For batts il let the Pro's recommend some as i only use cheap and nasty ones lol

Bang for buck is welders flex, a run of 00Gauge from engine bay to the boot should be sufficient.

I'd call him silly for wanting "bang for buck" and then going rockford, which is horribly overpriced.

Not a standard 120A alternator then. From memory they're an 85A alternator from factory, although you can get up to 120A from later model Commodores (and some Magna's, though I believe they use different mounts and a different pulley) and retrofit with no difficulty. They even make the 120A brand new still so you know you're not getting a rooted second hand one.

Jaycar is overpriced for 0Ga, the one at Aspley is Brisbane, here charge nearly $20 PER METRE for the generic stuff.

$19.80/m at all Jaycar stores... Ebay seems more reasonable at $10/m for the generic stuff on a 10m spool

I'd talk to tiger and get some shok cable pretty good priced for the quality
