When hunting high and low for the best speakers on the planet; we go beyond the usual places like Japan, Europe and America to even more exotic locales such as Israel. While originally in 1975 it may have been just a dream for Morel founder Meir Mordechai, over the last four decades we've seen his vision come to fruition with Morel now leading the world in superior speaker and subwoofer design. To that end it has just revamped its entire range - with the new components sets on the way as we speak. The forward evaluation sets of Hybrid 602 and Virtus 602 have arrived here now though, ready for us to look, smell, touch, taste and generally listen too all week!

The Hybrid range is the new replacement for the current Hybrid Ovation series. This from the website: Some proclaim the Hybrid as one of the best sounding speaker systems we produce, and the latest generation takes it steps closer to perfection. At the heart of the new Hybrid is an unconventional, innovative and highly effective Hybrid magnet system. These Hybrid woofers are now paired up with our famed MT230 tweeters and MXR crossovers to deliver extraordinary sound that’s even more pleasing to the ear than before. While the Hybrids have their own place, the Virtus range is primarily designed to take over the Dotech Ovation range when they end their run. Morel has this to say: The Virtus series embodies Morel’s technological advancements, featuring our Unified woofer chassis - a compact design that allows it to fit in the size constraints of today’s cars - while also employing MXR crossover technology for total component integration of the carefully refined acoustic parameters, of the tweeter and woofer. It is the culmination of design and technology that allows Virtus to bring emotion to music with a balance or rich, natural midrange, high frequency detail and vibrant bass.
