They're supposedly built like tanks, think PG/RF in the '90s.
4x150wrms @ 4ohms, stable down to 1ohm.
Dual unregulated power supplies
Triple Darlington output stage with Sanken output devices
Isolated pre-amp section
Burr-Brown O/As

US retail is around $1300 from what I can gather, hate to think of the AU price! :shok:

There's a 4-, 2- and mono-channel amplifier in the current line. And they look sexy (and are huge, and weigh a tonne)

Oooh yum 150wrms @ 4ohm with 1ohm capabilities, i wonder what they do at 1ohm then! 300w rms x 4 or something. And it looks like they have a nice beefy power supply to do high power down to 1ohm, and yum burr brown!

But i guess you get what you pay for ouch haha.

Do you know the specs power wise on the mono's jay?

I've been watching these amps develop over HERE!

Very very interesting.. PG finally stepped into the high end arena, just like the old school powerhouses some of us cherish..
Happy to finally see these released, and hear..

Sure, they are pricey, but these amps were built with no expense spared... Can't wait to see, feel and hear some in action soon!! :D

Was talking to PG Scott about these last night.

Look like VERY impressive amps on paper, be interesting to see how they perform in the real world though :P

Prices I was informed "under 1700"

Anyone who can't be bothered searching more info themselves here's the PDF/Manny
http://www.phoenixgold.com/images/manuals/Elite_Amplifier_Manual.pdf

The size of those Sankens is just insane & epic.

" Two Important things about these amps:

1. These amps are CONSERVATIVELY rated. For example, Elite.1 is rated at 3200w at 1 ohm, it just did 3900w on the bench at 1% THD. Each amp comes with a birth certificate.

2. Power numbers are important but our goal here is also sound quality. The electrical design and components (huge sanken Devices, burr brown op amps, monolithic caps, etc) are key.

Elite.4 Four Channel Amplifier:

F e a t u r e s :
• Class A/B Topology
• Burr Brown Operational Amplifiers
• Monolithic Signal Capacitors
• Massive Dual Package Sanken Output Devices
• Overbuilt Dual Unregulated Power Supplies
• Handwound Power Supply Transformers
• Triple Darlington Output Stage
• Isolated Pre-Amp Section
• Crossovers have 41 Detents for Exact Frequency Selection
• Aluminum Shaft Potentiometers
• Panel Mounted RCAs
• Clip Indicators
• Extruded Aluminum Heatsink with Evenflow Technology
• User Adjustable Temperature Controlled Fan Cooling System
• Integrated Cooling via Endcap Vents
• Each Amp is Shipped in its Own Soft Felt Protective Cover
• High Temperature Plexiglass Cover
• RMD - Remote Voltage Display Port
• Remote Level Control with Clip Indicator Included
• Audio Precision Quality Control Verification
• Power Output Birth Certificate
• 23.3” L x 10.5” W x 2.6” H

S p e c i f i c a t i o n s :
Conservative Power Rating
300 Watts x 4 Channel / 1 Ohm
225 Watts x 4 Channel / 2 Ohms
150 Watts x 4 Channel / 4 Ohms

Low Pass Range 40Hz to 4kHz
Low Pass Slope 18dB/Octave
High Pass Filter Range 20Hz to 4kHz
High Pass Filter Slope 18dB/Octave

Elite.2 Two Channel Amplifier:

Same features as above.

S p e c i f i c a t i o n s :
Power Rating
450 Watts x 2 Channel / 1 Ohm
375 Watts x 2 Channel / 2 Ohms
250 Watts x 2 Channel / 4 Ohms

Elite.1 Monoblock Amplifier:

F e a t u r e s :
• Class D Topology
• Overbuilt Quad Unregulated Power Supplies
• Handwound Power Supply Transformers
• Isolated Pre-Amp Section
• Crossovers have 41 Detents for Exact Frequency Selection
• Aluminum Shaft Potentiometers
• Panel Mounted RCAs
• Clip Indicators
• Extruded Aluminum Heatsink with Evenflow Technology
• Integrated Cooling via Endcap Vents
• Each Amp is Shipped in its Own Soft Felt Protective Cover
• High Temperature Plexiglass Cover
• RMD - Remote Voltage Display Port
• Remote Level Control with Clip Indicator Included
• Linkable or strappable to an additional Elite.1
• Audio Precision Quality Control Verification
• Power Output Birth Certificate
• 23.3” L x 10.5” W x 2.6” H

S p e c i f i c a t i o n s :
Power Rating
3200 Watts x 1 Channel / 1 Ohm
2400 Watts x 1 Channel / 2 Ohms
Low Pass Range 30Hz to 300Hz
Low Pass Slope 24dB/Octave
Subsonic Range 10Hz to 55Hz "

And test on the mono show it doing 4100 w rms @ 1ohm 100hz 1% thd. So very conservative ratings.

A bit more reading shows that these usually make roughly 10% more than rated power, amazing frequency response and they are also doing a elite 6.5" Component set and 12" long excursion subwoofer also in the works.

Here we are

Real World, No BS Ratings:

1600w RMS / 3200w Peak.

• 60mm of Peak to Peak Excursion
• 3.0” Premium OFC Copper Wound Voice Coil
• Dual Long Throw Spider Suspension
• Woven Tinsel Leads
• Composite Material Hybrid Cone
• High Excursion CAE/CAD Motor Design
• Vented Titanium-Aluminum Hybrid Former
• One Piece Aluminum Plated Dustcap with Tri-Blue LEDs
• High Roll Butyl Rubber Surround

If you want a one note SPL wonder this is not your woofer.

If you want a woofer that crushes your kidneys when listening to AC/DC and hits the intricate notes of a complicated SQ track, then you have found the right woofer....

Yum!

The question wasn't answered - what BB Op Amps are used?
like any brand, BB have good and less-good parts in their range.

I've been tempted to swap to a pair of IDMAX 12"s for a long time but couldn't really justify the change, these Elite's sound like a better candidate. I've got 3600W at 1ohm to push a pair of them
Like the amps, does anyone have local pricing on them? Only info I could find was $450 in the states
