As we all know most factory alarms dont have a lot of features other than keyless entry, remote lock/unlock and trunk release.

As I am tired of people hitting my car when I'm parked, damaging stuff and being dishonest pricks. So I'm tempted to wire a shock sensor into the factory alarm that will sound if it senses shock against the vehicle.

Can anyone advise if this is possible? Something like this or this

Or will I need one of these and then add a shock sensor

With my basic knowledge in electrical wiring, I think that I would need to wire the trigger wires on the shock sensor into the factory alarm trigger and ground wires. Can anyone advise if I'm on the right path.

Hi,

The only way you can add an additional sensor to a factory keyless entry / remote alarm system is if the factory system has an input to allow the sensor output to trigger it.

This is often not the case as they are normally built specifically for the vehicle.

Your best bet is to use an OEM Upgrade alarm system integrated to the factory system so it can take the sensor input.

What type of vehicle is this for? I might be able to help a bit more.

Kind Regards,
Daniel

Hi. Is the factory system an alarm or just keyless entry? Leave a window down and lock the car with the remote, wait for 30 seconds and reach in and open the door from the inside. If the horn blows use the mongoose module to add additional sensors, if not then you need an upgrade. Cheers MD
