Had a quick search and couldnt find,
I have my car booked in for gas install tomorrow (29 may)
The gas tank is going between the shocker towers
How do you guys go with sub installation, with this in the way
and what is the best dB that people have got with this in the way?
p.s. it is a sedan ( 93 TR Magna)

dB = Forget about it. Unfortunately that gas tank will ruin pretty much any cabin loading and transfer you have, not to mention the space you have in the boot for woofer boxes.
Subwoofer installation with a gas tank is always going to be a bigger compromise than without. It's harder to mount the sub out of the way, harder to get bass into the cabin, harder to run cables, etc. All possible, just not much fun.

Mate, heard a few Gemini's with petrol tanks behind the back seat before, sounded ok but could be different with a LPG tank. Should you go ahead with it just make sure you put fuses near the amps power terminals to avoid any sparks to the gas cylinder, as safefy is always imperative to your welbeing. Make sure your sub box is secure and so are the amps as well. As other MEA members have stated, you will not get much cabin gain due to the tank in the middle and if all fails, sell the car and get a hatchback for big bass!!!

I got the car back yesterday, just squeezed the subs box in, and to the ear they sound just as loud as they did before

What is the legality of sub in a sedan with a gas tank anyway?

Legality I cant say
When I was researching the putting gas on my car, there was one company using reconditioned tanks, eg old tank new internal components, before they put these tanks in the car they were tested to 300psi, being 3 times the normal tank pressure,
So unless you sub can put out even close to 300psi you will have no problems
