hey guys, iv currently got an alpine type s 12" 1243D
if i'v got everything correct, i need 4ohm power and the sub has a 300wrms handling

im currently on a budget, otherwise id go for an alpine m500
iv been lookin online to try get something around 200-300wrms and came accross these two (very cheap, good for my budget)

http://www.ebay.com....7#ht_4041wt_908
and
http://www.ebay.com....c#ht_4056wt_908

the 2 ch has a bridging power of 240rms at 4 ohm while the mono has 200rms at 4ohm the 2ch is also 20 dollars cheaping (dont mind jst sayin.. lol)

my question is.. is it better to get the mono ? (since they are more dedicated towards subs) or should i go the 2ch for that 40w's extra?

sorry if i seem like cheapest $%#@ around.. but yeah trying to keep costs down for now, and later go for the m500 (keep it alpine to go with speakers aswell)
or if anyone has suggestions for what else to go? im willing to go up to around the 150 mark.. for now..

i did have a Wtb thread, and two people generously offered me two alpine amps at a very good price one 400wrms at 4ohms the other 700wrms at 4ohms, i however am not too good with tuning so im scared of blowing the sub >_<

thanks!

Okay, for a kick off the SWS-1243D is a dual 4ohm voice coil subwoofer, so this means you'll need a mono amplifier that is best suited to a 2ohm load (since two 4ohm coils wired parallel equals 2ohms).

The original MB Quart company that has a great reputation was sold off to a Chinese company years ago and therefore do not equate any 'quality' of the old name to new products. They are MB Quart in name alone.

Regardless, its pretty hard to make a bad amplifier these days, and the mono that is stated to produce 400WRMS into a 2ohm load sounds perfectly good for your needs given its modest price.

This will put out 300w @ 4ohm

Edit:After seeing Damons post,the Clarion will do 400w @ 2ohm

Bahh I thought I had it all figured out thinking I'd need 4ohm power *mind blown*
Ahh that clarion sounds like a much better idea more reputable brand (to me anyway)

Just to clarify incase I make a stupid decision, going over the 300wrms rated (for sub) Is ok? I dont pump it too hard etc. and itl probably depend on set up (gains Nd stuff) ?

Thanks for input :) time to re read about ohms and voice coils

Ha! Especially when 'ohm' is a resistance value and not a power value, like watts.
