Hey all, as some of you may know, I am a beginner in car audio, and come here seeking information and to broaden my knowledge.

I'm keen on chucking in some Morel Maximo 6's in the fronts of my AU falc', taking out the parcel shelf speakers due to a gastank, getting a custom built sub box to the side of my boot, and possibly deadening the boot with Stinger Road Kill.

Now the bloke who's most likely doing the install is suggesting an Audison amp, of which I am happy with as I have read good reviews from them and etc ( dunno what one, he's going to chat to the Morel supplier to find out specs and what would be best suited ) but he also said he'd get an Audison sub.
Now looking around, I cant seem to find any of these subs.

Can anyone help me out or fill me in?

Cheers!

There won't be too many people with first-hand experience as they are reasonably new products (<2yrs in the market).
They also exist in the mid-high end which limits the number of people who will own them, with the AV12 @ $599rrp and the Thesis Basso 10" $1499rrp.

That explains why I couldn't find them online too easy.
Wow, that's pretty damn costly, especially for a part timer and student. Are you able to tell me if them installation quote I got is decent as I honestly don't know.

(The* installation quote)

Here is what I have been quoted. :

Gear:
-Morel Maximo 6" splits - $228.

- Audison amp - $ ?
- Audison sub- $ ?
Installation:
- Fit front splits, HU, and fascia - $150
- Custom sub box made, mounted and trimmed in carpet - $220
- Mount amp and run cables - $100
- Cables themselves - $120

Seems quite reasonable, providing it's good quality work.
$150 for fitting splits, headunit and facia is a very good price.
$220 for an MDF box, trimmed and fitted is about average, though could be a better price if it's more complicated than a simple 6-sided design.
And the other two prices are OK, depends on how the amp is being mounted and what cables are being used.

Well basically the sub box is to accomodate for my gastank, so I want to have it on the passanger side of the boot. As to how "custom" he'd make it, I dont know.

I will enquire about what sort of amp and wires he'd use.

I've seen his work and it's really clean, and I was happy with it.

But yeah once I find out what wires he uses, Ill let you all know.

Cheers for all the help

Who is doing the install? Have you spoken with Mark @ MAG he is a forum sponsor. Many of us highly recommend him, including me.

Danny from Street Or Customs (SOC) Audio & Upholstery.

He said he uses Stinger wiring, and he'd be making a sealed box.
Does it work out cheaper buying a box that is made with gastanks in mind for an AU falcon or is there just generic sub boxes made for gastanks, for all makes?

He doesnt know how he'd mount it as yet because he hasnt seen it.
