So i've been collecting my upcoming setup for a while now..

Got myself a JL 300/4 300/2 and 1000/1

mix of v1/v2, none are particularly new, haven't had a chance to even test if they all work

before going to the effort of getting it all installed, is there any place in BNE i can take them to to get a check over, replace any worn/damaged components etc. etc...?

thanks.

ED: i've googled/seen threads asked on here about this before with no answer, ranging back to 2006.. i guess i'm SOL if they don't work perfectly then? :(

Sound in motion Nambour serviced two of my jl 500/1 V1's.

Dry solder points were the diagnosis

Maybe try sending Pulse-R a PM, I know he has repaired JL Slash amplifiers in the past, he might be able to help out.

I know of a bloke here in Melb that does repairs - even does some stuff for manufacturers like PG and Pioneer. Great bloke and reasonable prices - your only problem is getting it here :|

yeah, these amps are both large and heavy (1000/1 even moreso), would be easy 50-$100 in postage alone.

these amps may well be fully functional (at least one of them should be), and that's $100 post that can go to other install related items lol

unless i get super desperate and just want it done >_<

thanks for hte suggestions so far! i sent the aus distributor an email to see if they know an auth repairer, not sure how that'll go lol

nambour is still 1.5 hours ish away, bne would be nice, but as a last resort..

how muchid it cost for the fix?

Good morning Brendan,

All service repairs are done in house at Custom Car Sound in Melbourne.

Is it possible you can tell me what models they are and what type of fault they have.

JL Amplifiers are no longer repairable due to parts are not available.

At CCS we have a JL Non-Wty / Warranty replacement program for our customers.

If you wished to get your amplifiers replaced with a new equivalent model, I would require your old amplifiers to be Sent to CCS.

I'm happy to quote you once you have forwarded me the models of the amp's and with a fault description.

I look forward to hear from you soon.

Thank you.

for anyone wondering, aus supplier was useless lol - in fact the only 'current model' /v3 i can use is the $1000 odd 300/4v3.. When v2 is still sold in stores

I have 2 v1's and a v2 >_<

ok, called up northfield and was put on to the macgregor store, was quoted at $23/amp for a bench test, gonna take my 2 300/ amps in tomorrow then i suppose, get the 1000/1 in when i can

also called up 'comscan' on the sunshine coast, was quoted at $77/amp, though could probably wheedle a better deal since apparently he's a friends dad. -- i think i know who ima go through, as i'd assume northfield's store would have more of a dedicated setup for car amp testing.

Whereabouts are you located? I can't see on my phone >_< ED: ahh vic cool cool
-- all the amps i have are v1 and v2.. V3 too new and exxy and only 2 models even hah

What sorta 'not too much' are we talking about? Haha - depending on the status of the 1000/1 i'll send you a pm :)

i just gave northfield a call, apparently they both (the 300/'s) work fine, no noise, no visible damaged components on the circuitboard, no heat issues and can handle a 'high' load.. Any way of testing just HOW high the load can go? Hehe
