NO experience as yet with the CDTs mentioned.. however I am not one to question CDT gear. Focals are brighter compared to CDT, I feel, but this is going by my ears only. You best shot is to audition both speakers personally and make your own judgement, as what you may consider either too punchy or too bright may sound ok to anybody else.

Sorry I can't be of too much help to you :( But if I were you... be different and grab the CDTs first and see how you go with them. Not many people have CDT so it'll be an experience :)

Good stuff.. look forward to hearing the feedback you have.

Just curious... where abouts are you sourcing your CDT gear from?

My mate who will be back from US at the end of the month will bring one of this set for me,I told him about my problem with the focal polyglass I had and he said CDT is pretty big over there and he heard all the good stuff about them,he also know my kind of music so.........well,it worth a try.
They are 3 ways speakers so....I dont know what to do just yet................and I am not too sure what will be the diff from 2 ways and 3 ways system.
Cheers

The CL-641 series is their entry level 3 way speaker set. If it was the HD series... it's the mid class (which I've seen in action and heard they sound phenominal) and the EuroSport or ES series is their top line gear.
If you can fit 3 ways in the car... sweet stuff... otherwise.. 2 ways are still fine.

The H701 processor installed ......at last, the whole system was tunned and installed by Tower audio guyz,at the time, focal coaxial front still there.I wasn't impressed with the sound at first and I thought it just a fuss and wasted of money and time,at high volume, the focal front still hurt my ears..........The reason why I was not fit the CDT speaker together with the processor because of the fitting fee for 3 ways is rediculous(1 K plus labour alone).
I have managed to have my 3 ways CDT installed elsewhere for an affordable price and I was amaze with the SQ I got now and for all the hassle and affort is worthed, the processor work brilliantly in both music and DVD dolby sound,I have tried R&B dvd and thought this is it,my journey to get best SQ (for my untrained ears) can stop here.......................it's all good.

The only thing I noted was at low volume,I can feel most of the sound comming from back stage,it's not bother me thought, however, most guyz in here would rekon for SQ setup, sound should comming from mainly at front stage. How can I adjust the amp to bring sound to the front?????
For thos not familia with the CDT I got this is the spec.( CL641)
4"/6.5" 3-way
Midrange/Midbass 4" & 6.5" Mounting depth 2 1/8" / 2 7/8"
Crossover: "Phase Perfect" Elliptic 4th order 3-way SatNet/SubNet-642
Tweeter: 1" Silk Dome
Power handling: 190 watts RMS
Frequency response: 55-20kHz
Sensitivity: 92.4 dB.
Impedance: 4 Ohm .
My rear stage is Focal 165 CV polyglass splits.
Amp to run front and rear power by Alpine F340.
The question is................should I adjust the amp to move sound to front stage ?????or should I have to upgrade to F540 to bring the CDT 3 ways to it best.
Thank you for ur time

you could bridge the f340 for the fronts and buy a small cheap rear channel amp

a alpine mrp-t220 v-power series amp would do the job or something similar power wise :)

that solution seems to be the best for your dollar compared to selling your amp and getting a bigger 4channel.

if you want to go a bit extreme you could get a eclipse pa5422 and bridged that for the front channels and use the f340 for the rears :)

lots of options just depends how much you want to spend and what you want your install to look like.
