Midbass response is good, midrange is OK, treble is WAY over the top, crossover is too simple and has no means for padding the treble.

I recently did a review over here on mid priced speakers, competing between the DD C6.2's, Focal Polyglass 165v2, DLS Magnesium MS6, Pioneer TSC160R and Rainbow Audio Dreamlines. Of those, if you want value for money at the pricepoint of the C6.2's, buy the Rainbow Dreamlines. For sheer SQ and musicality they eat the DD's alive.

Note, i sell both DD and Rainbow so i have no vested interest in either camp. But the C6.2's have never been a speaker that has impressed me much :) If you want DD speakers, get the W6.5's with the Neo3 ribbon tweeter : now THAT sounds nice ;)

lol
If you buy a new GM Holden and drive it into a wall, do you go back to Holden for a WARRANTY ? So why do they try it with a burnt woofer ?

Some say if a car/install was a turd, if you mould it and shape it into something great. They say its still a turd. I must be a turd polisher then!!!

For their price tag i am impressed. Yeah tweeter never going to be a clean as something you pay 1k plus, but hey thats what you have to live with. It is the hadeling of midbass that i have liked. I have one set playing as midbass drivers and one set with tweeters playing the midrange. The tight punch of mid bass is really quite good (i think, and im not audio pro only listened to speakers in others cars and have only owned, Alpine type x, jaycar and some old MB's and for strong bass these fellas go alright! The midrage i would have said better than ok. I have type x in my last car, and if i turn off the midbass drivers and just listen to the two way splits, i'd say they sounded a lot umm more "powerful than the x's" By powerful i mean it plays all the music very strong and sharp, quite different to both the MB and alpines that i would have said MB are very very smooth and alpines are crips and clear. Power handeling i think is one thing that should be mentioned for these splits. The clarity of these at high power is very good. Nice allround component, probably suited to someone that enjoys some loud music.... DD's intention was probably to produce something that could keep up with their subs , and they have.. I like them maybe not for everyone, but for someone that wants to impress people with loud and clear music, they are well worth listening to. For the rrp, they are exceptional value!
