My housemate had a set in her car, sounded great. Back when i was a bit of a n00b in the car audio scene. Since then i have heard alot better sounding splits. I think for the money you can do alot better as well. Have a look around this forum and see what people suggest. Most people would suggest that a set of dyn audio 240 splits would be a much better buy for around the 1k mark then the mbquarts for $1700. Unless of course you are getting them really cheap.

About 3months ago i sold the mbquart splits on ebay to a guy in perth. Only got $300 for them minus tweeters. About a week ago he sold them again on ebay after spending $300 for a new set of tweeters for them. He only got $365 for them. A big loss, but when you see the likes of a 2nd hand set of dyns go for $500 second hand i think you are better off going in that direct.

Cheers Joel

ive heard this model, and some other ~$800 model of MBQ's properly, and from experience i find them incredibly bright compared to other speakers.

the midbass also tends to be a tiny bit muddy.

MBQuart make great speakers, i think they sound great,
Boston acoustics make great spealers i think they sound great,
Focal make great speakers, i think they sound great,
Dynaudio make great speakers, i think they sound great.

See where i'm at. lots of great sounding speakers, all have different sounds, which one is best for you depends on your ears. I myself like the Boston's although everyone see's them as being bright but they suit my ears and my music genre.

Have a listen.

MBQuart also offer a 3 year warranty on there speakers when fitted by an authorised dealer, not many do that.

yep... i cleaned them up and they came up like new...

there is some minor superficial scratches on the dust cap on one of them , and some very light surface rust on two of the speaker terminals , actaully it was just the screw that goes into the terminal (maybe that was a cheap quality screw they use) , underneath the contacts where perfect.

gave them are good clean and you can see by the pics they came up great ...

are these your ex speaker , can you give me the history on them ?

cheers!

as a matter of fact they were mine, if they came from a user on ebay called brianaj or something like that?

As for the history, they were purchased from Alberts here in perth in 2002 i think... Were installed in my housemates ss ute, running off the alpine mrv-f540. Sounded good to. Then they came out of that car and sat in a box in my room after i my housemate sold the car. I purchased all the equipment off her after it came out, and im now using the amps that were in that car. They were treated really well and the rust was because of a slightly leeking door or something like that.

I just couldnt justify the $300 for some new tweets, so i put them on ebay, and after seeing him put them back on i was considering buying them back off him, but in the end i couldnt be bothered.

Cheers Joel
