I've got a alpine MRD 501 and want to run a single IDMAX off it. Just wondering if the 501 is stable @ 1ohm. If not, will the IDMAX sound nice with just 500rms?

Also 12" or 10", i want a really punchy sound.

Where would i get one in Melbourne?

and how do you plan on giving the ID 500W RMS if its dual 2ohm? its either 1ohm or 4ohm for you

the IDMAX is quite efficient, even in a sealed box. off a quality amp like an alpine monobloc, i'd hazard a guess it will go very loudly and sound accurate with mere 200WRMS on tap.

if you want to be competitive for SPL comps, of course you'd want more power. but for daily listening and SQ, you won't need heaps.

but buy the version to match the amp. choose the dual 4ohm model to provide 2ohm for that amp.

much appriciated, but went with a Boston G5 10 in the end because of the small enclosure requirements. Also picking up a GT42 so that should be enough for the G510 and also Pro 60.
