Seperation should not be an issue for me thanks for time alignment. You really love your 3ways dont you, haha.

Im trying to find places in Brisbane to demo my options, and struggling.

Would you not see Audison VRx amplifiers in the same stead as Tru Tech T-series, around the same price.

TT are very nice. extremely clean, dynamic power. in comparison the VRx amps are warmer and more laid back, if not slightly lacking in detail in comparison. the TT remind of alpine V12 amps, somewhat sterile. that's not a criticism, just an observation. mind you, it would also depend on the speaker being used and their ability to reproduce this characteristic; it's also possible my experience with these amps is partly a reflection of the speakers as much as the amps.

i dont believe that the seperation like that can be fixed by Time Alignment. it really only finishes the install of not account for a big seperation. but thats my opinion and lots of people disagree.

3-ways make such a big difference when compared to 2-ways. its just to hard to get a speaker to play all the way down to say 50-80hz then run it all the way up to ur tweeter. thats why i love having 3 speakers to do it.

i was sort of tryin to find a solution so that u could keep ur stock look but use 3-ways. :-) i mean. i am in love with my rainbow power driver. it would be nice to see a few more of em around.
Please note: Any technical discussion of a topic by myself implies that your ears will be the ultimate measurement and that enjoyment of a system is the ultimate goal!

Also, chances are what I am talking about is absolute rubbish and that the reader shall derive his own conclusions from the above comments!

hey,
ive cant say ive listened to the new bostons Z or aplines X though. But if u r to comparing older alpines X series which r vifa clones n olders boston pro....the supremo is a step higher i reckon. Being a 'super' tweeter n all ..it brings out the details/ sublime rollff in the higher fz range. When buying speakers of these calibre u cant really go wrong with either of em...just depends on wat sort of sound u prefer. Most important, however is the time n effort spent on tuning n installation n geting everythign ready. By this i mean countless hours.sometimes daily routine of trying new xover point/slopes, TA, speaker placement etc2. If yer talkin bout winning SQ comps....i believe if u get your settings spot on....u can get results whichever brand of speakers u choose. :P :P Also u might wanna listen to other drivers like seas, phass or even daytons. Daytons has been the rave in value for money driver for home hi-fi for sometime...i believe if u choose properly u can use em just as well in a car enivronment too. :D :D

good luck.
