well, what an absolutely wonderful day!
perfect weather, top venue a HUGE turnout...and a bit of contraversy too! (the am. st. boys know what i mean)
plenty of new faces, heaps of familiar ones too. the pro show boys were happy not to see rich's face around and congrats to all the winners. big thanks to eclipse, caa admin, the boys at stylyn and all the competitors and spectators who turned up on the day. if we had turn-outs like this at every event, we would never hear any talk about caasq's future being in trouble.

again, congrats to all the winners on the day, and hopefully we can have an even better turn out at the next event in november

i think the one thing that can be taken out of the day is...reverse gear is not necessary if u have a totally pumpin stereo

I agree with all of that ~Spyne~, and I dont think we would be out of place asking exactly what the hell happened. I know I would love to be able to have my car rejudged at the same comp...... Another question... Do the other states use CD103, or that Alpine disc....?

  :o :(

QUOTE (RMA @ Feb 6 2010, 01:22 AM) My only regrets are:
Selling Fudd an amp (for a fraction of the real price) that had been returned by Autobarn Geelong which had been incorrectly used by AB Geelong and turned out to be faulty when Fudd started using it.
Whilst he was given a new amp after it could not be fixed, he never acknowledged any of the assistance given and bitches to this day about it.

Well what was undoubtedley the best event this year!

I must thank the guys at Stylyn and Eclipse, but also the judges who are getting more experienced as time goes on too.

I'd like to clear up some controversy before it gets out of hand.

Firstly, a mathematical error, saw 2nd and 3rd place mixed up, and unfortunately Blanketman was incorrectly awarded 2nd. In fact, Dominique was second and the trophies were reawarded. This was a very simple error in calculation and I must thank Blanket for being very co-operative and understanding. We always encourage competitors to check ALL scores, as the judges as you can imagine have to add LOTS of numbers up all day long and it does get confusing on the judging sheets.

We also decided that at all future events, the following will happen:

Two judges sheets will be filled out and each section marked as per current way. Totals however will NOT be added up. The sheet will be run through with the competitor after they have been judged, but they will NOT be given their judging sheet at this time.

The judges will then pass the completed sheets to myself, MRS.TEK, who will calculate (and double check) all scores. These will then be recorded on the sheets.

Presentation is when competitors will find out how they have placed, and all competitors will recieve their judging sheets directly after presentation.

Not only will this avoid all future errors on calculations, it will also keep a little suspense with who has won, placed etc.

Next... Victoria has continued to use the Alpine First Encounter disc this season as we did not want to change discs mid season. Most competitors were aware of this, and it has been said on the forums. 2006 season will see ALL states using My Disc CD103.

Lastly, in the case where a competitor re-entered the lanes. This car was NOT "rejudged" so to speak. I would like to clarify to avoid any speculation. The competitor had made some last minute changes to the system and managed to reverse the left and right channels. This was evident when the car was being judged. Now in all previous cases, when this happened, the judges would call the competitor over and tell them, exit the vehicle and allow them to fix it before continuing to judge the car. This is what happened today, but in a slightly different way. The car was completed judging, and the competitor was told about the problem.

They asked if they can fix it, and the judges recheck it. The response was (due to time constraints) to fix it and then it will be rechecked at the end.

This is what happened, and the car was NOT rejudged, the judges simply checked that it was now in fact correct, and adjusted ONLY that component of the judging sheet (so as to not give the competitor any opportunity to retune the car based on the feedback from the days judging of it).

So in effect this was no different to what has ever happened in the past, and the same would be done for any competitor (and has been).

I hope that clears it up, and I hope that ends any speculation. Most importantly guys, some members STILL need to remember this is all about good fun with our stereos, and some feedback as well. Its still being taken too seriously by some competitors.

Just remember why we are all there, and as soon as it gets too serious, more rules are required, more judges are required, more training is required, it gets more difficult, it becomes less fun, it scares off new competitors, it gets too competitive, it stops happening. (IASCA, CAN and all our previous competition formats in Australia).

Thanks for a great day, and we must remember to thanks the ones often forgotten.... especially Ainz for organising entries, cars etc etc (all the stuff I take the credit for... LOL). :)

Thanks guys.

Yeah .... it sure was an excellent day today!

As a first timer to one of these events I was a bit apprehensive about competing, but in the end I was very glad that I did .... who would have thought that I would have ended up with an award!! :D
A special thanks to Simon (Pulse-R) for giving me some tips and helping me fine tune my head unit this morning.

It was also really good to be able to put some faces to the names that we see here on the forums.

Thank you all for a great day.

Cheers,

Alan.

great day perfect weather

thanks to everyone involved for an amazing event

special thanks to all the judges whom gave up their only free day of the week.

well done to stylyn

it was great to see industry involvement with Eclipse making the event possible

demo cars from Rf, alpine, clarion with awesome installs :)
awesome to see installs that you can only dream of having.

also great to see other stores making an appearance too, with the guys from hektik bringing an amazing looking car to show off.

it would be nice if every event has a store represented like a car from stylyn (like madtravs), hektik, freeway, glprosound. It could be the installers challenge cup :)
