IDMAX 12- What Other Choices?

Looking at going for a single 12, smallish box.
It'll run off a single DDM1 id guess, 2 would probably be to much power for 1 SQ sub?
im leaning towards an IDMAX 12
What other subs should i be looking for around the $800 mark?
i still want to retain decent boot room cause i may be looking at airbags so i need space, my current setup
takes up to much boot so id probably be looking at a sealed box around 1.5cu ft.
any suggestions would be good.

• Amplifiers: PDX 4.100 & PDX1.1000
• Subwoofer: IDMAX 12
• Optima Yellow Top

my setup has 3Kw,
IDmax is a good sub, there are others around, and someone will shortly spout the usual list, but, to narrow the options from the top 10 really comes down to personal taste.
get to some meets and listen to other people's subs, or try the IDMAX and see how you go, if you're unsure, try 2nd hand, if you don't use it much, you should be able to sell it again for close to what you paid for it.

Selling Fudd an amp (for a fraction of the real price) that had been returned by Autobarn Geelong which had been incorrectly used by AB Geelong and turned out to be faulty when Fudd started using it.
Whilst he was given a new amp after it could not be fixed, he never acknowledged any of the assistance given and bitches to this day about it.

I reckon you should know what types of sub's characteristic do you like rather than asking people for options...
However, IMHO if you are looking for a REAL SQ sub... meaning no boom boom boom... I reckon you should try Phase Linear Aliante 12" (required 1000watts), Scanspeak 9" (note: only required no more than 250watts), Audio Technology Subwoofer, Velodyne
If you still listen to RnB, Techno, etc then go for Adire Brahma, Eclipse Titanium, Boston G512, Treo SSX and many more...
