G'day guys,
Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the soundstream van gogh amplifiers, particulary the VGA 400.2 and VGA 600.2.
they look well built, and seem well featured, just want to know about any reliability issues and any other pros/cons.
Also, will 400WRMS do an IDMax subwoofer justice?
Any help would be great.

from what i know the id max is really efficient so it does play very well off 400 watts of good clean power, but, obviously not as hard as it would off 1000 watts... but will sound good... real good... very good sub

I've used a SS Van Gogh 500.4 for the past year or so and must say it is a fantastic amplifier. It is very adjustable, the footprint is very large however. A little tip on them, don't run your finger quickly on the ridge, as it will cut it VERY easily.
It is very reliable, no engine noise whatsoever, no turnon thump.
When I installed it I noticed remarkable improvements in seperation between the left and right speakers, and the control is much better than the amplifier I was previously using (Sony XM444), but I haven't compared it to other high end amps. I believe that it is a good amp, and am 100% satisfied with it.
Btw I'm currently using it with a set of fusion splits which I hate, and a clarion sub, which I also don't like, but I did notice an improvement over the Sony when I installed it. I can give you a full report on what it is like with a good SQ install in about a month if you can wait that long.
I think that the only more adjustable amp in the SS range is the Human Reign amp at the time, and I think it is better than the current range in terms of features. Otherwise contact Streetsoundz as suggested above, I'm sure that George can help you out with some more info.
Cheers
