the IDQ's are pretty well priced too....

Selling Fudd an amp (for a fraction of the real price) that had been returned by Autobarn Geelong which had been incorrectly used by AB Geelong and turned out to be faulty when Fudd started using it.
Whilst he was given a new amp after it could not be fixed, he never acknowledged any of the assistance given and bitches to this day about it.

why would you want to do passive radiator in a car? seems rather pointless when the sub is almost a commodity and buying another 1 would outweigh any benefit of running a PR.

Call me Mr.Magma. I've owned 6 of these babies and loved each and every one of them. They're STILL my favourite woofer for music. Ever.
They lack above 60hz or so, but that sub bass is the best you'll every have the pleasure of feeling.. I once burped one at 15hz and its still pounding today !

They're very colourful tho.. they're sound is similar to what you would get from a low tuned box and an Epicenter unit. I loved the colouration, it added a lot to the bass for me, however its not for everyone.
I rate the Magma over the Brahma and IDQ (and yes, I have sampled the 12" version of each).

Personally, I'd suggest the JBL W12GTi as an option. They are extremely clear and accurate, and will play as low as you want them to. They respond well to tuning.. and well, everyone knows about my 42hz SPL system that busted 149's using them ;).

Quick aside: Magma are D3 coils, but you can consider them to be like D4's. A 2ohm stable amp will handle the 1.8ohm a Magma gives in parallel (trust me on the 1.8ohm, I've owned a lot).
JBL GTi's are D6, so 3ohm is it. They get reasonably loud, musically, on a 1Kw @ 4ohm amp.

The Earthquake SLAPS (IE. Magma PR) will give a 25hz tuning from a 2 cube box, thats the point. The PR is to replace the port.. but at $300 per SLAPS, thats a bit $$$

forget the adire shive, tempest and malstrom

the tumult kills all of the adire range, actually its my favorite sub with a very similar sound to the jl 13w7 but louder.
