System is basically going to comprise of.....

Alpine CDA-7969R deck
Alpine MRV-F345 V12 Amp 2x75 for splits and 1x300 for Sub.

What Im after is opinions on which speakers and sub I should run, for now the sub will be fed 300rms and later given a monobloc of about 500-600rms. The splits 75x2rms for now, 110rmsx2 when I get the monobloc.

Splits, I am running Focal 165v2's at the moment and Im quite impressed with their quality, but find they can be a lil bright at times for me.
So I'm looking at four sets of splits-
*Focal Polyglass 165V2 Splits
*Morel Pulse 6.5"
*Hertz HSK165
*Alpine SPR-17LS

Sub - Im after SQ not SPL, I have two subs in mind.
*Xtant X104 10"
*Alpine TypeR 12"

Which would be best in this setup, in the interests of SQ? Will be installed in a sedan.
Any opinions greatly appreciated and welcomed.

Cheers
Luke

Ummm SQ, nice clean high's and vocals. Good tight bass with a decent thump. A balanced system which replays music how it should sound.

I listen to various types of music, some examples would be....
AC/DC
Guns 'N Roses
2Pac
The Police
Led Zepplin
50cent
Creed
Live
Black Eyed Peas
Infected Mushrooms
Ben Lee
Coldplay
U2
and some Top40 songs

Hope this gives you some indication.

I have just ordered the Hertz HSK 165s today, so wont receive them till sometime next week, but anywyas, once installed i will give you my feedback.. The hertz are perfect for rnb and dance type music-- i have been told.. But once installed and all, will give you my review..

For now the hertz will be installed only to a headunit (alpine 9835), till one day when i can afford a small 2 channel amp, so i dont think i will be gettin the most out of them just yet..

i own an xtant 12" and my mate had a type r..

to be honest, the type r wasnt anything great. i listened to his sub and it was very sluggish. the type r went alot louder off 350wrms compared to my sub which was running 600wrms.

i would definately choose xtant over type r..

RX7 S4 - Rotor FTW!
Alpine CDA 9855
VDO cheap splits

Pioneer 306c collecting dust..

i have a boston pro 10in for sale *wink wink nudge nudge*
QUOTE (RMA @ Feb 6 2010, 01:22 AM) My only regrets are:
Selling Fudd an amp (for a fraction of the real price) that had been returned by Autobarn Geelong which had been incorrectly used by AB Geelong and turned out to be faulty when Fudd started using it.
Whilst he was given a new amp after it could not be fixed, he never acknowledged any of the assistance given and bitches to this day about it.
