Henry yet the G5 has a recommended enclosure of 1.0 Ft ? What kind of music would you expect out of a 2.0 ft box for the G5 ?

Also,

Have you tried the G5 yet Julz ?

adelaide car audio shop suggested the Rainbow Vanadium and Amboss. The Vanadium is an awesome SQ sub but is only rated at about 350W RMS, hardly high output. The Amboss is rated at around 500W RMS from memory however wont give the same SQ as the Vanadium. For straight out SQ Rainbow are awesome, however for masses of filling shaking bass there are other brands out there.
If 350W RMS is enough for you though, audition a Vanadium, you wont be sorry.

Entering an SQ comp is about spending countless hours working to pay for a great sub, only to be told you need to spend countless hours tuning so you can sound like you don't have a sub at all.

dude i was running my M1 at one ohm with the vanadium it took it and loved it and wouldnt have a problem with more, had to slow down on it because my amp started clipping way before the sub was even close.

george tells me he has seen 1000wrms put thru a vanadium and it still lives to this day

Well the M1 makes well over 1000W, so you've done it yourself. :)

Vanadium Sub will still shake you. I don't know about you, but I've sat in a car with a vanadium sub before with not much power being run through it, and it was easily more then enough for some music... really massaged your kidneys. It's an awesome SQ sub, and no audiophile should underestimate it... Having heard an ID Max, Boston G5, Diamond TDX and a DD sub, whose model number I don't remember, the Rainbow came out as being the best. IMO anyway. Bloody nice sub if you ask me. :)

I think people are forgetting the fact that you don't need 1000wrms to run a subwoofer. It's not linear to output - the massive variable is enclosure.

Anyone remember 153db from 25wrms many moons ago?

Andy Jones, IASCA Street X SQL is code for "I half ass everything." Basically you are saying you are not loud enough to do SPL, and have no idea what it takes to do Sound Quality. So you meet in the middle with a quiet system that sounds like ass. Good job at being mediocre.

Nope. I wasn't in the scene back then. Sounds awesome though.

I thought you had Focal Subs Juls?

How come Focal Subs hardly ever get recommended for SQ?

This was months and months and months ago!! I've been through about 3-4 subs since then and settled on the Focal 27kx's which I'm finally happy with.

Someone mention my name?

ha ha

Hey Juls you still have to hear this G5, now that I'm using it and its run-in. Although building a better box for it is on the agenda of course.
