EDIT#what i meant by the top products is, as in SQ top(not nessesarily current model) #EDIT

theres a great number of coinage spent every day on system upgrades that infact maybe bypassed for a better option of upgraded products?
Every newbie dreams of running the top competition setup?but they cant afford it.

With everyone basicly starting out with factory car stereo system , how many times can/could a person upgrade to get the "top system" considering that everyone would run the top system if they had a chance!

once , twice , three times , or even four times,,,,,,, whats your theory suggest!
leave a comment aswell if u like!

Ideally, once.

But in reality, I don't think many people ever finish upgrading.

Agreed. It often seems to be 2 or 3 upgrades before people get a result they are pretty happy with and either run out of patience in continuing to instal new equip or run out of money to continue the process.

I've found that once you change cars, it seems to start again :(

My current car is about to have it's third upgrade and hopefully it's last.

i have lost count how many times i have.

even at the moment while upgrading i have upgraded again!
QUOTE (RMA @ Feb 6 2010, 01:22 AM) My only regrets are:
Selling Fudd an amp (for a fraction of the real price) that had been returned by Autobarn Geelong which had been incorrectly used by AB Geelong and turned out to be faulty when Fudd started using it.
Whilst he was given a new amp after it could not be fixed, he never acknowledged any of the assistance given and bitches to this day about it.

I tried to do zero upgrades but had some niggling dissatisfactions with my first install.
So the first "upgrade" reached the level I was trying to attain and there is no amount of money that would cause me to upgrade the install I have now.

Do it right first time if possible....

I've never actually finished an 'upgrade'
In the Magna its been 2 years of upgrades... still going. During that time I've constantly upgraded everything, headunits, amps subs, speakers, wiring, The 0 gauge is the only thing that hasnt been replaced.

Thats CAASQ for you, you need to change to stay competitive.
Then you win and get bumped up to the next class = more upgrades

What would I do with my time if the system was finished?

the spirit of competition is always change.
you get what you can from what you have, and then think... nah, it can be better....
so new speakers, new amps, different amps, new H/U, re-do install...
my system is a constant flux of trial and error, that way the total/final cost is offset over a longer period of time.

Hrmm...

Not really any upgrades yet, none of the speakers in my car worked but my new HU will be an upgrade.

I am just trying to buy the topish stuff first time. All upgrades after I finish this setup will probably only be 1 thing a year (IE, next year I might upgrade my front splits, but everything else will stay). Since I agree with Shiny Car (Damn all you 'S' names) that an upgrade should be at least 2* the value of the original upgrades will be expensive.
