By the way, your response should read:
"Man, that is a huge first sentence. Your lung capacity must be pretty big as to not need a breath. Use paragraphs next time; it makes it a lot easier to read".
I just thought I'd help given we were correcting each other and all.

my old Pioneer amps (4x 65W) were warm, the new JL Audio ones (4x 75W) are much more 'accurate'(?!?) and hence have a cooler/harder sound, but they do sound more natural in the upper mid range. (maybe mosfet vs. bipolar??)
I never expected just changing the amps would have such an impact, considering all these people saying all amps sound more or less the same.
I have been able to eq mine back into nice-ville, but the speaker postions and crossover settings have all needed to be re-done from scratch.

i had the same thing with the response amps i think they sound like crap and wouldnt use them in a high end install. save up and buy an amp from a reputable brand. people will say you wont be able to hear the difference but thats rubbish imho the jaycar amps sound like crap.
i went from the jaycar to an eclipse amp and never looked back

Hmmmm.... Don't roll your eyes when I say this but have you sound deadened your doors?
Have a listen to your speakers at a low level and then compare the sound at a higher level... Do you notice a slight change in the midbass? What I'm getting at is that you may have a sympathetic harmonic in your door that you may not have noticed at lower sound levels.
Another thought is that one or more of the speakers may be out of phase? Not to treat you like a noob
I guess you will have to nut out what you are doing differently with the new amp that may have any kinda bearing (eg: different RCA line voltage level, different earth points, change in speaker wire lengths making a voltage drop)

not too bad, very detailed, and reasonably flat response, plenty of power on tap
easy to install, smallest 4 ch amp I found with decent power (didn't look at the Class-T amps, just class AB).
all connections (power and speakers) uses a allen key, has concealed terminals. heat sink doesn't get hot at all with 4ohm spkrs, but I don't play it too loud.

I don't see how you can bag out jaycar when your sig says you use Kenwood power for your front stage?
I don't mean any offence or anything, i'm just curious as I personally hold jaycar in much higher regard then anything from kenwood.
Cheers
