Hi all

Phoenix gold have discontinued their line of xenon product, and has introduced a new range called RSd.

Does anyone know anything about the RSd range of speakers/amps? Is it on par with Xenon and Titanium??

Apparently a lot of amp brands are slowly slipping as they try to cater to a wider market and cut costs in manafacturing.

Entering an SQ comp is about spending countless hours working to pay for a great sub, only to be told you need to spend countless hours tuning so you can sound like you don't have a sub at all.

So where does the RSd stand in the heirachy?

Is it lower than Titanium and Xenon, but better than Octane R and the old Tantrums??

i would say it is around the tantrum/xenon range..

wonder if they will bring out a new hi end range or they will stick to doing cheep stuff.
i wouldent expect to see anything new now anyway till CEA next year.
QUOTE (RMA @ Feb 6 2010, 01:22 AM) My only regrets are:
Selling Fudd an amp (for a fraction of the real price) that had been returned by Autobarn Geelong which had been incorrectly used by AB Geelong and turned out to be faulty when Fudd started using it.
Whilst he was given a new amp after it could not be fixed, he never acknowledged any of the assistance given and bitches to this day about it.

I emailed the PG support, and this is the reply i got:

Question:
"Hi. I am just confused as to where the new RSd range of products stands in the Phoenix Gold Heirachy. How does it compare to past (and current) products? To my understanding, going from top to bottom is Titanium, Xenon, Tantrum, Octane-R. Where does the RSd fit in? Is it the new top of the range, or the new entry? "

PG Reply"
"I believe you may be a little confused as to our past range of product as the Xenon line was far superior to the Ti line. The RSd line is our current top of the line as Xenon was recently discontinued. RSd amps are of the same sound quality and performance as Xenon but with less features, and the RSd speakers are hands down superior to any speaker line we have previously released. "

Better than Ti Elites i suppose.

Another reply from PG Support, comparing the new RSd to Ti Elites:

"The RSd 6” components have a slightly smaller tweeter than the Ti Elites but the tweeter is essentially of the same design and materials the primary difference is that the RSd tweeter is 22mm instead of 28mm; this smaller size allows the speaker to be more efficient while providing the same sound. You will not need as much power for the RSd’s as you would need for the Ti Elites because of the efficiency ratings. Also the RSd midbass will play 3db louder than the Elite down to 40hz while the elite was only good to about 45hz. Both speakers are amazing but it will really depend on the installation, as far as the results you will get. The RSd’s should only need about 100 watts RMS per channel to perform at their best. "

I'm on holidays in America atm, so i guess i'm comming back with RSd splits!!
