Ive currently got one Type R SWR-1241 SVC sub running of a jaycar 4x100(380rms) and am about to purchase another better 4chan SQ amp (audison, Zapco etc) to run my Focal poly splits and a decent pair of rears(Still to buy, I am adding DVD/screens and want all round good sound, rears will be able to be turned on/off).
What I need to know is can I run another Type R but a different year `04/05 2ohm+2ohm DVC ie a SWR-1221D along side my current `03 SWR-1241 SVC model? They will have a bridged channel each(380rms each) off the jaycar for now and will upgrade to a matching mono later. Would it make any difference to SQ? Bothe are rated at 300rms but can take a lot more i've seen/been told.
Cheers all.

As I understand it, unless the subs are the same model, it wont work well - as they would have different xmax/box volume requirements/TS parameters, they will be slightly different in their respective sounds, and so would be kind of 'muddy'. not too mention, one may clip when the other is working fine

I've had a look at both in bassbox, frequency response is pretty close, phase response is identical, should be able to get away with it (I'd use seperate chambers though)

It is a bad idea to have two different speakers running the same freqency range. It will result in unfavorable results.
With all due respect, BASSBOX does not do recursive analysis and there fore could predict the time of day let alone the response curve of a speaker.
