where abouts would the cadence 'momentum' mmx-5 and mmx-6 splits rate as far as SQ goes.
im thinking about them for a present for my brothers car and i know he'll only really want a decent SQ and go for some real good streetable SPL [peer presure i guess] .

im thinking if i buy him a decent set of front stages he'll have a better quality system [hopefully] when he spends all his dough on the subs and a amp[leaving not much for anything else].

while im here... what are some opinions on the cadence cvl-6k's. i got a set at one third the price today and havent hooked them up yet.

opinions on cadence gear from people who have used thier stuff?

Essentially if they sound the goods to you, then by all means go for it.

From a personal point of view, Cadence isn't a name I would associate with SQ.

Having heard both thier subs and splits and having used thier amps at one (short) period of time in the past, I certainly wouldn't say they are a completely awful brand comparitively to others, but I most definately wouldn't be purchasing them for SQ.

This said, I'm sure with the right amount of tuning who knows what they are capable of. If they sound good to you, thats all that matters.

Momentum was/is their own brand - they are only a division of Cadence

Ahh yes. I think you'll find Momentum gear next to the word 'No' in SQ terms. I had a Momentum amp back in the day. It was shiny, but thats all it had going for it

I had Cadence Z602 splits in my car - they were ok, but not really what you'd refer to as SQ speakers. If he is really into the SQ, I'd look at brands like Focal, Morel, Dyn, Hertz etc.
