What to do with subs

TA subs? HUH?
No image can be achieved below 300Hz because of the distance between your ear drums.
We hear image because one ear hears or more accurately recognizes sound only after ¼ of the wave length is heard. So TA on subs makes no sense to me at all.
Subs are the foundation on which TA is built on. Subs will be latest in time simply because they are the furthest from your ears. In the case of your UTE with the subs less than 6” from the seat back and in my best guess are less than 18 inches from your ears so you are listening to them in near field. This means your ear drums are reacting to air concussion long before they react to frequency. Thus TA on your subs makes even less sense. The sound from the subs will always be “behind” you in this application.
In a UTE I have best success running bass-pass enclosures. Ya I know they are not what most consider SQ but they do have excellent efficiencies and as Juls said steep XO slope and low XO point can over come this. {to some degree}
I’d be working on the best sound I can get without subs. Once this is achieved evaluate what’s missing and build a band pass enclosure to fill in the gaps. In reality, the confined “space” of a UTE will make it very difficult to achieve SQ in subs.

Ive been giving this more thought, and I am considering building a dual 10" Boston G5 setup - one behind each seat - but utilising the Boston GTR Passive Radiator. The G5's will be suite my Alpine PDX 1000.1 amp I have aswell.
Juls has had great success with firing the subs into the sidewall (and I've read multiple posts recomending the same thing) so I'll do this, but have the radiators firing in towards eachother but at an angle towards the seats more. A bandpass enclosure really isn't an option because of the space restrictions.
I don't expect to get massive SPL with twin 10's in a ute firing into the wall, but after my last week of playing with my new system very loud I don't think it's the best idea for my hearing to continue with that - after every 20min drive I get out of the car with my ears ringing!
What are peoples thoughts?
There are not many published user experiences with the Boston GTR Radiator so it's a bit of a gamble in terms of results, but it may be worth it. I'm guessing it will be similar to having the subs firing into the wall with the ports going into the centre of the cabin.
Another bonus is the very small enclosure space required.
I was initially considering just sealing up twin IDMAX's but their very large depth and extremely difficult availability leads me to G5's.
I'm still some time away, but thats the plan.

.....
Well, thats what I was gunna say, more or less....
Actually I was just going to say that you are listening to the subs in near field, so compression and not frequency will be generating most of the noise. Added to that you TA everything TO the subs not TA the subs to everything else, and you've pretty much got the gist.
And Terebro, are you suggesting two 10" subs with two passive radiators??
WHY???
Whats wrong with one??
