~*~ System installed by Precision Car Audio Engineering ~*~
Alpine - Rainbow - JL Audio
Entering an SQ comp is about spending countless hours working to pay for a great sub, only to be told you need to spend countless hours tuning so you can sound like you don't have a sub at all.

Are those Australian or US prices??
Also is there any Australian distributer for Helix?
If those prices are in $AU then I may well have just found my future amplifier upgrade...

Not if I save for them first!!! mwaha
Hehe not likely though as I still not so sexy visa debt I aim to clear by the end of the year.
For me an A4 would be perfect for my tweets and mids, while an A2 would be just right for my midbass.
And a second A2 should nicely power then sub, with around 300ish bridged into 8ohm (Vanadium runs 7.2ohm in series).
P.s.
It's ok, i'll be using them with Rainbows so we would still be unique!

Yes Australian prices.
Only Approx, but close I hope, as Yandi [sp?] from www.audioart.com.au was reading from the new price list and converting on the spot. I have asked for the actual prices last week but have not received a reply yet.
You can buy a H400 from ebay USA for about AUD $600, plus freight USD $99.
I am looking at two of them for my car.
I too thought the A series would be a lot more.
On ebay a Sinfoni 60.1 is going for about Euro 950, auction ends in a few hours. I put some bids in but gave up. Still cheap, around half price, also 150.2 and 45.2 for sale.

Er....I am using Rainbow as well, cirrca 2004 Profis, tweet, 2x M100 & Kick bass in each door with two, maybe 4, ED Eu700 for a little bass.
Thinking 2 x H400s and adding a H1000 for the EDs latter.
Lots of thinking!

Quite a bit over half price, take into account the €200 shipping and you getting close to the local RRP for a new pair with local warranty (60.1HD).

I thought local price was $3350, price in October's Incar magazine.
They didn't sell, I have been offerred them at Euro951, = AUD $1660 plus maybe $350 freight, so around $2200 after GST added on arrival.
So is 2/3rds the price or $1100 saving worth it for no warranty.
He did say warranty starts when sold, not sure how that works, but I would not believe the local disrtibutor would honour it. And fair enough too in my mind!
If I don't and I am very tempted, any one else interested?
He also had a 150.2 and a 42.2, but these are certainly not worth it, as they are too close to local prices
Anyway a day or two to decide!!!

I don't know how warranty would start after being sold, because a lot of manufacturers don't warrant internet sales. So essentially, if you had a problem with the product, you could send it offshore at your cost (another €100) hoping that the person warranting the product finds that the warranty extends to the damage, and if it does, the repairs could be undertaken by someone other than the factory authorised repairer as it is very likely the factory wouldn't want anything to do with it. Of course if they find that the "warranty" has been breached, you have to pay for it yourself, while it is in another country or have an expensive paperweight on your hands.
Of course you can get it shipped back here to be repaired although, again, at your cost.
From my reading of the auction also it seemed that the items were used also but I'm not one to save webpages...
Doesn't exactly instil the necessary confidence required to make a foreign purchase to me, but if you are happy then go ahead - I'm sure you've thought of the implications of buying online, and there is plenty of discussion on here about it.
From memory the local warranty on Sinfoni amplifiers is two years, although I would need to confirm.

I would imagine the best way to fix if needed would to send to the local importer and just pay for it. Better than sending an amp overseas etc.
The bigger issue is that it is really more than what I think I need at this moment in time! most likely ever!
Maybe in another 4 years for my next car after I have experimented with this car and system, then I may feel more confident or realize I just don't neeed or use this kind of quality.
I am thinking that what ever goes in now will stay and be sold with the car.
Still, they look great don't they!
What woud be street price IYHO?
ta.
