Is there a sound off being considered any time soon?
The reason im wondering is because id like to build a car aimed at winning a sound off, i have a lot of audio stuff that im not really using and wouldnt mind having a whack at making some numbers...

ella i am thinking of approaching freddy and other car audio specialists up here to try and get them involved in regular events and at the same time increase the number of people involved in the territory forums.
I am waiting for some information so i can make up some brouchures or something like that to give to places like freddy's, carcom and soundspectrum to show how supporting events like this will be benificial for them etc.
I will talk to freddy about haveing a soundoff and see if he will be willing to help out because as far as i know he is the only one with a termlab up here. Once a date is set there will be posters and stuff going up everywhere and in order to get more people active in the forums i was thinking that the entry fee could be ~$10 if you register online but maybe like ~$20 to register on the day.
still going through a lot of the finer details before i get started.
any input would be appreciated.

freddy is the loudest, not sure what he runs (i think 2 DD3515's or 9515's) and he gets ~155. once again not 100% sure but i confident that it is higher than 150 on the lab.

Custom install will happen in the next few weeks, or when the car returns... in a year from the new engine install.

They are different dB meters, term lab is the recognised one and AC is the old one that was used a couple of years ago, reads a coule of db higher than the lab.
almost 139 is really good for sealed box, what sort of car was it in? and how much power where you feeding it?

The reading was on whatever freddy Uses, im told its a termlab system
It was in my 2000 model hyundai accent hatch, i had the sub facing backwards for rear loading and was simply playing a sine sweep test tone i downloaded off the net,
Is there any benefit in actually purchasing a CD fot as im told that MP3 cuts certain frequencies from the music
I believe the amp should have been putting out around 600-700 WRMS the way i had it wired...
The box was the smallest recommended size for sealed boxes in that sub too

check there for a free tone disc.
MP3 don't produce lower and higher frequencies too well and they cut overlapped sounds, by doing this they can be compressed so much of course at the sacrifice of quality.
Yeh freddy uses term lab, i just thought that maybe someone else up here had some sort of metre, soundspectrum has a dodgy one that goes up to like 120db haha.
Hatch backs are gold for getting loud, but 138 with a sweep, sealed box and ~700wrms is bloody excellent!

I have some ideas for a sound off car as well, hmm just borrow the girlfriends hatch build a ported hornloaded enclosure to be a bit different and dump a heap of juice through it, should be interesting lol
