i have a question about SQ amp set up. do you guys perfer using full range for 2 ways spilts at all time or using hi-pass for tweeter, lo-pass for the mid? if the amp has built in crossover, would it help tuning? can i call it active crossover?

Generally, you bandpass the mid. that means the mid has both a high pass, AND a low pass on it.

Thus, you filter out all the power-robbing phat low bass that small speakers in 2-way splits simply arent designed to play. This lets them go louder, and "punchier".

You also filter out, using the LPF, the high freq's that the tweeter's supposed to play.

So yes, a in-built crossover certainely can help. Generally, an external crossover unit handles the LPF of the mid and HPF of the tweeter, and you use your amp to set a HPF on the mid.

Confused?
