Spending 3.5k on a parallel import, with no warranty, no assurance of quality and no backup if something fails...... and you call that worth it??

For 3.5k, Id be wanting it hand delivered by a babe in a bikini and a certificate handwritten by the CEO of SS saying that he would personally vouch for the amp. Otherwise, forget it.

i want one. i will buy one of them one day.

Price dont worry me.
QUOTE (RMA @ Feb 6 2010, 01:22 AM) My only regrets are:
Selling Fudd an amp (for a fraction of the real price) that had been returned by Autobarn Geelong which had been incorrectly used by AB Geelong and turned out to be faulty when Fudd started using it.
Whilst he was given a new amp after it could not be fixed, he never acknowledged any of the assistance given and bitches to this day about it.

id bet my bottom dollar matt, that if you did buy a human reign amp, and it failed, (unlikly) that the second one you bought for 3.5k, still under rrp of one, probably wont...

and even if it did, youd have heaps of spares to work with...

alternately, the first one fails, and you still have 4.5k of savings to spend fixing it...

p.s. i dont need the support the industry lecture, i buy all my goods in country from local stores, im just pointing out that loyalty can be flexible...

I agree with this, and i also don't need any lecture on "i'll be laughing when it breaks under no warranty". I have an imported amplifier sitting in my room fried that i'll have to have fixed at my expense because i don't have a warranty, and i still say it was worth it. why? because it was a calculated risk. I had the opportunity to get a product at a drastically reduced price, and it is now broken. I also have other imported equipment that is not broken, that i paid significantly less for.

It's like the age old argument when people have a go at me for not getting something insured or with a warranty. When you get insurance, it's calculated such that the odds of something happening versus your cost outlay for insurance works in the companies favour, if it didn't they wouldn't be much of an insurance company and i can guarantee they wouldn't be hanging around very long. So if nobody in the world had insurance, on a whole, we'd be saving money. Sure, some would lose out big, but averaged out, the everyday joe would have more cash in hand at the end of the day.

The other thing i don't understand about the 'support the industry' lecture is that i'd consider the import market an industry in itself. If you're happy to have items imported, aren't you actually supporting that industry? The more support it gets, the lower the prices go? It's inevitable that people will hunt for a cheaper option. Anybody whose burnt a pirate CD that gives the 'support the industry' lecture, is in my eyes a hypocrit. It'd be like me telling half the world they're bad people for not supporting the artists they love.

Don't get me wrong, insurance is great if you want that extra piece of mind, you just have to put a dollar figure on what it's worth.

that site gives you 10% off any purchase over $2500 so that would make the amps even cheaper, and you could probably get 3 off that site for the same price as retail locally. just depends on if you are willing to take the risk.

ok enough said, lets get it back on topic.

the 2chan is rated 800wrms at 2ohm, 450 at 4ohm......

the 4 channel, has 125 at 4, 250 at 2, and 500 bridhged at 4. now these figures seem pretty much what most high end amps produce.

basically why does the 2 channel produce so much?? im assuming coz it was designed with driving subwoofers in mind.

would it be like 2 monoblock boards in teh one case, and "bridging" is equivalent to straspping them??

or am i way off the mark?

It'll look great next to the water feature Rob.

Andy Jones, IASCA Street X SQL is code for "I half ass everything." Basically you are saying you are not loud enough to do SPL, and have no idea what it takes to do Sound Quality. So you meet in the middle with a quiet system that sounds like ass. Good job at being mediocre.
