Obviously this isn't the best solution, I know this, but it will only be temp and i need some music in the mean time. Will there be any bad effects to the mids or tweeters? or should it be ok?

as long as teh xover point for the tweet isnt to low, then it should be ok.

keep in mind tho that the xover is designed for the manufacturers products, so its not really going to fully utilise teh speakers capacity...

If it's just a tempory thing then there would be no problem, I doubt very much that any physical damage would occur to any of the components, even if crossover points were wrong or a bit of an impedance mis match between the Dyn drivers and the MB Quart crossover.

In theory it's not the best solution .... but in practice sometimes it can work.

My system happens to fall into this category.

I have 5.25" Dynaudio MW160 GT midbass drivers running off Oz Audio Matrix Elite crossovers and Matrix Elite tweeters .... and somehow this combination just seems to work .... just ask anyone that has heard my system.

I didn't really plan for this "hybrid" setup .... it was the only components that were available to me at the time (Wagga Finals) .... but I really like the sound as it is ... and for now this is how it will stay :P

The whole point being the mid and the tweet will blend well using a stock passive?. I cant see anyone knocking your idea when most audionuts crappo about any stock passives anyway.........cors
