I recently put a jvc kd-avx1 in to replace my panasonic cq-c8400w and my bass all but disappeard, after muckin round for a while i looked in the manual and saw that the jvc has a 2 volt pre out for subs and from memory my panasonic had 5 volt pre out. Without knowing too much about electrics/electronics i figure this is the reason for my dramatic loss of bass.

At the moment i have quite an old setup of two twelve inch rf punch z's ported running off a p150s amp that were more than enough in my old setup but with the new head deck barely fill my fronts in their bass output. Fronts by the way are dyn 220's running off jaycar 2x150 amp, no rears.

If the conclusion i've drawn above isn't all rubbish, i'm after idaes for sub/amp combos that would complement my current gear, sealed and sq focused but with enough power so i've got room to move if need be.

Thanks for the responses, sub volume is up full on the h/u, eq's running flat but if i can't get enough bass on flat eq i think i need to upgrade also i can run the gain right up on the amp and still get squat.

Even if i can resolve my volume problem i'd still like to get a better single woofer. i recently took my woofers out of my sub box to check out the construction and the workmanship was disgusting, i just wanna throw it in the bin.
